My friend, I agree with you and go as far as to say that all of us have to drop political affiliations and loyalties. We need to be loyal to the state of Pakistan and not to any Government or politicians or even army general. Corruption is a big problem, but it is not the biggest problem, most Pakistanis are corrupt, I would say around 99% (financial, moral, ethical etc.); we cheat each other every opportunity we get but blame the establishment and politicians.

There is corruption globally too, but they still thrive because they still appoint the right person (however corrupt) for the right job. The result is that even the corrupt person will make correct decisions which will eventually benefit the country. Our biggest dilemma is the appointment of incompetent fools into positions of importance which has caused us more harm than corruption.

Again, like many before you, you speak of "net benevolent dictators" (I.e. a dictator whose benefit outweighs his corruption) as being in Pakistan's interests.

I agree. After all, we are at war with a larger and aggressive nation. Leadership is more important than purple ink in such times.

However, Nawaz Sharif and his family are not a group who bring us net benefit. The harm they cause because of their entanglements with India is BY ITSELF enough to bring us net harm, never mind the rest of their fraudulent behaviour.

These people need to be put out to pasture with their entire extended family. How dare they appoint each other to positions without any grounding in merit whatsoever. It is no different to Hasina's behaviour that Bangladeshis finally figured out and sent her scampering to the house of Modi.

The Sharif clan are also wholly incompetent. I have no doubt that their ideological paralysis during wartime contributed to missed opportunities in May.

I can find neither opposition nor fault in your post. Incidentally, it is also not at odds with my thinking either. The difference of opinion we might have is that I believe Imran Khan's PTI and his Governance to be worse off, even PPP was better. Accordingly, I believe Imran Khan should never be allowed to return to power and that the rogue element within PTI, which know neither respect nor boundary, needs to be rooted out and made an example of.
