Pakistan-India Conflict 2025: News Updates and Discussion

But suspending candidates just based on accusations or ongoing investigations is a shortcut to Pakistani style politics,
Yes, the "Pakistani way" is suspension "just based on accusations or ongoing investigations":

When have Pakistani politicians been suspended on the basis of an accusation? I'm genuinely curious if it has ever happened.

You see, I am not in any sort of denial that Pakistani politics is not a functional democratic institution. It's you folks who claim to be so, yet by objective measures, India are no better than Russia. Purple ink just for show.

Which is why 20 million have left India permanently to live in more democratic countries as minority diaspora. Not to mention 9 million living as slaves in undemocratic GCC countries. These Indians "believe" in the outside world more than their own country. .Millions more have left illegally,

Yes, millions of Indians have moved abroad for better opportunities not as refugees fleeing war or persecution. The 9 million in the Gulf are there for jobs, not democracy. And this critique is rich coming from multi-generational Pakistanis settled in the West, not out of love for democracy, but because they saw no future back home and still don’t. Meanwhile, Indians abroad, especially from states like Kerala, have invested back home and built influential, thriving diaspora communities. We’re far from perfect, but we’re okay with where we are and quite happy with the direction we’re headed. We’ll leave the doom and gloom mindset to Pakistanis, you’ve perfected it.

Yes, sad and shameful incidents, no defending them. But the solution isn’t military rule or unelected gatekeepers.

Yes, people still elect idiots, often based on caste, language, or local loyalties. It’s stupid, but that’s the reality of a large, diverse democracy. Hopefully, with better access to education, future generations will vote smarter, especially in our BIMARU belt. But we’ll work with what we have. However 'smart' our generals may be, we’d rather deal with elected fools than hand over power to unelected committees or uniforms. That model doesn’t suit India.
But we are told education per se is not the problem.

It is the lack of freedom of the press that creates tunnel vision in certain autocratic nations.

BTW nobody on these pages has even claimed Indian generals should run India (esp when they can't even run 300km of their own airspace). Indian media magnates run India and in turn, they are managed by self-serving censorship laws created by a single party to endorse a single party narrative.

  • Our generals haven't been slapping canteen boys in the army mess yet.

  • Our unelected officials have not been going around beating people up because they are speaking the national language.

  • We have not had government sponsored assassinations of minority politicians broadcast live on TV yet.

  • We have not announced a caste based National Census yet,

Yes our democracy doesn't measure up to India's
I am personally happy to see the developments in India today. In my lifetime I wish to see India go back to its 3000 year roots , change its Constitution and establish a theocratic judicial system , Forum rules prohibit me from elaborating.

Interesting list, sounds like the bar is proudly set just above rock bottom. If not slapping canteen boys or avoiding a caste census is your idea of success, then congrats. As for India, we’re not perfect, but we’re not taking cues from a country still debating whether it should be run by clerics or colonels.

When was Pakistan ever run by clerics?

Please clarify.

Are you aware of the RSS in your country?

When did clerics run Pakistan?

Making up your own history here. India is literally run by extremist Hindus, and that is not an insult, that is how many of them describe themelves.

In their minds they think they are superior and Pakistan should not be allowed to embrace their faith in any way.

Their country is literally run by religious zealots who wish genocide on the Muslims of the subcontinent. Rotten filthy people these are.

Clerics may not officially run Pakistan, but they’ve had a veto over policy for decades, from blasphemy laws to foreign policy shaped by Friday sermons. And as for India, being proud of your faith isn’t the same as running a theocracy. We may have loud extremists, but unlike Pakistan, they don’t dictate the Constitution, and our courts still matter.

Do you have any more information on this "Veto"!?

Is the "veto" in the room with you now?

How often do you think about this "veto"?

Were you seeing images of this "veto" from an early age?

Moron you attacked mosques in Pakistan and your country is run by RSS extremists.
