Yes, millions of Indians have moved abroad for better opportunities not as refugees fleeing war or persecution. The 9 million in the Gulf are there for jobs, not democracy. And this critique is rich coming from multi-generational Pakistanis settled in the West, not out of love for democracy, but because they saw no future back home and still don’t. Meanwhile, Indians abroad, especially from states like Kerala, have invested back home and built influential, thriving diaspora communities. We’re far from perfect, but we’re okay with where we are and quite happy with the direction we’re headed. We’ll leave the doom and gloom mindset to Pakistanis, you’ve perfected it.

Yes, people still elect idiots, often based on caste, language, or local loyalties. It’s stupid, but that’s the reality of a large, diverse democracy. Hopefully, with better access to education, future generations will vote smarter, especially in our BIMARU belt. But we’ll work with what we have.
