Syrian Civil War and The future of Syria after liberation

they didn't have any other option.

They withdrew after their preferred faction in Suwaida took control and the Hijri militia was expelled. Idk why anyone is framing this as a "loss" or some sort of "backing down from Israel", Israel strikes had no significant effect, they can bomb and kill all they want, the fact is, the army entered suwaida, expelled Hijri's militia and handed control to the Druze factions loyal to the govt, as was the deal in the first place.

Hehe, they have something in common with their Turkish brothers in the end of the day. Back in their time, before Russia and the Balkan nations destroyed them, the Ottoman militia was doing the same thing all around the Balkans. It is interesting that Ataturk broke their spirit and tried to westernize them as much as possible, but still some Turks are actually supporting and cheering up for those guys. The Bashi-bazouk spirit still lives, but this time they are looting from the Muslim, not from the Christians.

Israeli Druze getting arrested up for their stupidity.

Airstrikes can´t win you war but what it can is you can score hits on careless fighters not these careful besides you can do media sensationalized strikes like striking a stragetic build or what not but that iself won´t win any a war.

You need to be pragmatic in order to understand the machinations behind all this. Someone with an air force will have an advantage but it won´t win the war.

the opponent will adapt with tunnels, using terrain and even coloring their trucks the color of the environment.

Taking just one city with the population of 500.000 people if you have an air advantage depending on your recruitment capability could take you upto 1 or 2 years and if the population is resilient on top of that you can lose your entire armed forces in that one city despite with air advantage
Same tactics that won the war for Hezbollah Iran and Hamas fighters in Gaza are still fighting but whenever this war is finished I don’t think there will be a true winner even if Hamas survives they will rule over rubble Syria military is now out in the open they aren’t fighting in tunnels in the countryside anymore but took over bases of Assads military they can rain bombs over Syria destroy entire cities and guess what that’s what they do they don’t care they will destroy Syria not for the Druze but to keep the endless cycle going

HTS withdraws

they didn't have any other option. they are in no position to fight with Israel.
I have to stop replying to one of the users on the thread I think he thinks Syria current standing army is intimating to Israel…..

God bless the Syrian people, may they make their country whole again.

Syria is in no position to fight Israel. They have a lot of work to do. They first need to unite Syria and then rebuild their economy and military capabilities. Some people are delusional in thought, Israel has complete air superiority and can bomb every inch of Syria uncontested. You don’t pick a fight when you are down.

I hope Turkey will do as they say to rebuild and modernize the Syrian Military.

Anything from our Turkish brothers on steps taken so far in training Syrian military?

Oh my god you stubborn and don´t understand anything. First of all I never said intidimated or anything but I just told you that an airforce gives you advantage but doesn´t solely win you a conventional war this is a simple fact my friend nothing over dramatic.

How did the Rebels win without an airforce took on large forces. If someone knows how to fight without an airforce then they can cope. You can destroy good portions of cities but there are approx 1000 towns and even greater numbers of villages.

That is why you have Aleppo, Homs and Hama plus Ghoutta basically almost completely destroyed by Russian airstrikes but there is not enough bombs to flatten all of Syria and yes one city achievable but even that is gonna take years of strikes example 20% of Gaza still stands I mean buildings after intense bombardment.

We did this doctrine before Israel on Yemen we sent some towns to the stone ages but it can´t be done allover Yemen it is to vaste. There is scale to everything imagine 100 Gaza´s. where each area has the same amount of men power like Gaza and urban setting plus tunnels. It becomes quite a mountain to clip right?

Example Ghouta alone took out like 5-6 division alone perished there it was a meatgrinder. it was an encircled pocket and they were fighting to the last man. 70-80k Syrian forces perished there without exaggeration in a 5 year battle it was very very nasty meatgrinder, they had tunnels and everything, it was such a nasty meatgrinder that the Syrian armed forces use to enter there by force other soldiers standing behind them with rifles killing them if they flee.

I am not being biased if that is what you think.

Israeli raids on the vicinity of the Presidential Palace and the Chiefs of Staff in Damascus

Reuters news agency reported today, Wednesday, that a wounded caused by an Israeli strike against the Syrian Ministry of Defense, and the Arab correspondent confirmed destruction in the Syrian Staff building as a result of the Israeli raids

The Syrian Ministry of Health said that the death toll from the Israeli raids on Damascus has risen to 3 dead and 34 injuries.

Two Syrian security sources told Reuters that an Israeli raid targeted the Ministry of Defense in the capital.

This raid comes in light of the escalation of the situation in southern Syria, as clashes take place in the province of As -Suwayda, which the Druze constitute most of its population, and Israel claims to defend them.

"The Israeli occupation army continues to monitor developments and regime measures against the Druze civilians in southern Syria. According to the instructions of the political leadership (Israeli), the defense army is bombing the area and preparing for various scenarios," the Israeli army said in a statement.

Earlier, the Israeli Defense Minister, Yisrael Katz, warned that Israel will continue to bomb Syria if the Damascus authorities did not withdraw its forces from the city of As -Suwayda, where the Druze lives.

After changing power in Damascus at the end of 2024, the Israeli government has repeatedly declared its support for the Syrian Druze and expressed its intention, if necessary, to help them self -defense in facing the possibility of destabilizing the situation.

Almost certainly and old picture, but reminiscent of the folly of thinking divide and rule will work out for the Turks or Arabs.

The three worst things that happened to Syria and the Syrian people united in one leader. No wonder that all other Druze leaders including those in Lebanon and a significant portion even within Israel are positioning themselves against Hijri.
