Indian Politics and Internal News

modi's replacement yogi adityanath of the Gorakhanath Math temple is FAR worst than modi and even more Islamaphobic/racist than modi is.
As I said earlier before my message was unceremoniously removed for God know what reason...

Yogi jaisi bd-soorat cheez ko kisi sundooq may bund rakhain.

That said, I think we need to look beyond individual stories. They're important but they don’t give us the whole picture. In a place like South Asia, where there’s no shortage of serious issues, what really matters is the larger direction, the structure, the institutions, the system.

Like the way you use ChatGPT to DIVERT with the "mine is better than yours " argument. reeling out statistics without quoting the source:
So to first take you on here: :

1. Social Hostility Index
On the Social Hostility Index Is India that much better than Pakistan? The Pew Research Center puts India into the "Very High" category.
Your own report in The Hindu brackets India with Pakistan Egypt, Nigeria and Nepal with a score of 9.3
2. Press freedom:
In the 2024 World Press Freedom Index, India is ranked 159th out of 180 countries. This ranking is low for a country claiming to be "the world's largest democracy" Per the Reporters without borders assessment India is at 151 and Pakistan is at 158. Pakistan doesn't claim to be the World's Largest Democracy.
3. Religious Freedom Index:
The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom brackets India in the group of countries Countries of Particular Concern (CPC) and Special Watch List as per the (SWL)USCIRF 2025 Annual Report. Pakistan has the honor to share the same space . Funny Bangladesh is not on the CPC or Special Watch List either l

And if you zoom out, India’s system is far from perfect, but it’s still much stronger than Pakistan’s across most metrics,
India ranks 79th in the Rule of Law Index,
What's your source for the above statement ? What's the so-called "Rule of Law" index ? How is "Rule of Law" defined? Your ChatGPT search went to the ambiguous World Justice Project which ranks China as 132 out of 142 and India at 79 out of 142 on the so called "Rule of Law" index. So by your ChatGPT definition China has less Rule of Law than India and is 30 points behind Pakistan wih a score of 103 out of 142 🤣
Pakistan’s way down at 129. On “order and security,” Pakistan is 140 out of 142 just above Mali and Nigeria.
What's your source? Yes, Pakistan is in an existential struggle against a powerful fascist enemy India, funding a $80 billion defense budget geared towards our extermination.Pakistan is in a war and the normal metrics of "Order and Security" do not apply. Geographically, if the insurgency affected AFPSA administered zones of India are compared for "Order and Security " metrics over Pakistan's land area are the metrics that different?
When it comes to contract enforcement, Pakistan’s ranked 156th globally, it takes over 1,000 days to resolve disputes on average. India’s doing better on that front, was ranked 63rd
How do you define "contract enforcement"? Commercial, social, legal ? Cite sources?
How is that relevant to the environment of tolerance and freedom in India. If its commercial contracts you are referring to the the Heritage Org monitoring index on economic freedom and ease of doing business lists India at 128 below Nigeria but still higher than China at 151 , So per ChatGPT it is easier to enforce contracts and do business in Nigeria and India than in China,

Even in terms of conviction rates, agencies like the CBI and NIA in India have rates upwards of 90%.
Cite credible INTERNATIONAL assessment sources please other than your cooked up CBI and NIA data. No ChatGPT cut and paste.

the Indian legal system can still be a pain, slow, overloaded, sometimes politicized but it generally works better. The institutions are more robust, and there's a bit more accountability built in. Both countries have problems but when you step back and look at the macro trends, India is on firmer ground institutionally.
"Robust and bit more accountability built in"
How many of India's Supreme Court orders are actually enforced? Please provide a list .

both Gauri Lankesh and Rahman were brave women who stood up for what they believed in and their murders were tragic. But I wouldn’t put them in exactly the same category. Gauri was very political and openly went after powerful figures. That made her a lightning rod, and in this part of the world, that can come at a cost
Now to get away from your ChatGPT diversion.
--------------------------
Which " powerful figures " did Gauri Lankesh go after? She held no political office or affiliation to any political party. She was only a journalist exercising her freedom of speech to criticize religious fundamentalism, communalism , casteism, and who had long been targeted through politically backed social media intimidation, and so called "legal " action. When these methods failed to silence her she was murdered , She wasn't the only one and certainly not the last. There were others like Narendra Achyut Dabholkar and M.K.Kalburgi .
Curiously the Indian social media lauded the killings with not a single government official or lawmaker condemning these killings,
"lightning rod" ?
So a lightning rod attracts lightning and therefore the "lightning " is not to blame,
Are you suggesting that Gauri, Dabholkar and Kalburgi should have remained silent and not become "lightning rods" ?

No meat in the month of Sawan. India is the only democracy in the world that dictates what people should eat and when.
@vasanthm Are the Bangaluru KFC outlets open?

Bunch of jokers... I used to eat beef, pork or any kind of meat I preferred in India and obviously in USA. These people pop-up like mushrooms or snails during the rain time and then disappear in a short time.

More no meat agitation.
Wonder if foreign airlines bringing pre-catered food on their flights will be targeted.

If this is being done by vigilantes then it shows how weak the Indian state in that area really is. If this is done by government order, then shows how arbitrary it acts; bad for business and investment.

Lol not sure why this bothers you so much. We’ve got our own customs, meat’s paused in some places during Sawan, big deal. KFC’s open, people still eat what they want. FIR’s filed too.

And btw, 80% of Hindus eat meat,
More importantly why do Pakistanis care so much about what happens here? I don’t lose sleep over your food laws or festivals.

Note the title of the thread.
The mods have kindly given us some space to discuss here

Here are reasons why we Pakistanis are interested:
  1. The more State Approved religious fundamentalist hooliganism grows in India, particularly hooliganism against western brand icon targets like KFC ; that's more mud on India's face, and proves the myth of Indian "democracy freedom and tolerance" . This was the "India model" the West in the good old days recommended Pakistan should follow, but no longer does so.
  2. The more self generated intra-community violence there is in India's Northern Cow Belt; the more damage rampaging mobs do to the state infrastructure, the more entangled India's fascist regime will be in managing the situation instead of diverting the emotions to pogroms against India's wretched minority; or indulging in yet another provocation to war with Pakistan. We would prefer you fight over onions and garlic in your curry .
  3. The more the Cow Belt slips into chaos and bloody caste and communal strife the more investment , jobs, and development will move to a much more stable, secular, educated and economically prosperous Southern India which though politically less relevant is far less hostile to Pakistan and its people. In the event de-limitation further limits the South to political irrelevance, and the ghost of EVR Periyaswami Naicken is resurrected, we may dream of peaceful and economically beneficial relations with a separate peninsula Dakshin Nadu.
We can dream can't we ? 😊 We would happily get some teachers to teach Kannada or Tulu as third languages in our schools and get our people to appreciate the poetry of P.Lankesh. We would want our people to visit Guru Dattatreya Baba Budan Dargah located at Baba Budan giri.
We can dream can't we ?

India's Punjab is bringing in Blasphemy Laws
Will other states follow suit .
A short is copied below:
There is a much longer version with horrifying details of religious coercion, religious prayers, fiats, in the "democratic " state assembly, murder, state sponsored non-judicial executions of incarcerated under-trial individuals. Here is the link to the full video.
Interestingly this has opened a pandora's box because the cow belt states will certainly bring in their own laws with more horrific punishments for blasphemy.
Now I don't feel so bad about the legacy blasphemy laws in Pakistan.😊

Big 3 used to be Mckinsey, Boston, and KPMG. That trend change in the 90's with Accenture and Cap, etc. I know many management companies top food chain very well
McKinsey, BCG, Bain - the top 3, work with CEO/CXO and Board.
After that, I would place Deloitte, EY, PWC, KPMG (in terms of size) but many firms which punch above the weight e.g., LEK, AlixPartners, Oliver Wyman, Roland Berger, MMC etc. Accenture for me is more of IT/digital. Many others - space is still fragmented

I'll tell you a secret. Mckinsey, Boston and Bain are only Wikipedia big three. The term is really fake. Mckinsey is one, EY, PWC and KPMG used to be truly considered the top 4 or Big four and as a graduate of IVY league management programs, that would be your set destiny. There was always the Big Four term, not big three. Some dudes decide to make it up. I have contacts in quiet a few big MC companies leadership and the boards.

Ok. Its subjective but here goes nothing: I was at McK and the only real competition on top of the line projects was BCG followed by Bain (though only time I competed with them was in PE due-diligence cases). Ask anyone in recruiting circles you will see MBB at the top.

PwC used to show up for post-merger integration. In all these years, I never competed with a Deloitte or EY. KPMG strategy is small. EY-PArthenon is good, Monitor-Deloitte is good as well.
