as far as I know the poor performance of the ZDK-03 was the reason they were retired and now assigned to the electronic warfare unit with radars removed, China technology moved too fast

even KJ-500 AWACS is old now

now China has KJ-600 for Carriers and they could be useful to Pakistan Air Force

they have KJ-700 AWACS which is replacing the KJ-500

and also KJ-3000 AWACS with the Y-20 platform

so these should be considered with J-35

It comes with ZDK-03, custom version of DTS-03 datalink for export.

US doesn't allow LINK-16 to be added to ZDK-03, Sweden allows LINK-17 to be added, so only Erieye can talk to all the jets, making ZDK redundant.

No reason ... We have Saab 2000 and in decent numbers

Saab can talk to link 17 and link 16 at time ...

Mr we have also bought weapons from other countries as well. Not everyone is giving us soft loans. We just bought 4 Tabuk class patrol vechiles were they on loans as well. Also China is not all on loan.

While Saab seems to be loved by PAF , they are nice platform , but I also Like the Chinese offering

I personally favour more ZDK-03 in Pakistan Air-force and Navy , as these units can be modified at will with Chinese upgrade more often, and the speed of craft is just ideal for loitering in air space

I am fan of this platform , it is just the right size with 4 Engines

7 of these Refuelers are needed (Urgent Need)
This would boost PAF both at Land and also boost Over Sea Operations

• Ukraine-Russia war has hindered servicing of the Ilyushin , while PAF is doing great work with plane , we need to also have backup planned

This is top item on my Wish List, 7 of these planes would certainly help improve PAF further

Y 20 I can see in future as transport and Air Refuelling role not so sure about AWAC version of it.

We retired the radar system on those planes not the planes. We plan to convert them into EW platforms.

When it comes to AWACS I don't see any new AWAC coming from China. It would be from Sweden. I can see now Pakistan buying SAAB Global Eye plus when Zardari visited NASTAP the breifing he was given mentioned Pakistan locally making an AWAC also.
