They have Aaron Rogers now and TJ Watt is signed. People are expecting a upgrade
Rogers thinks he is in the same league as Brady. He is not. His career is over. It's been over.

I was stunned enough when the front office signed Russell Wilson. And now Rogers?

I don't expect the Steelers to make the playoffs this year.

One. Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Summer outdoor concert in Maryville, TN where I was living. Free tickets.

Hah: Lynyrd Skynyrd! So in a Honky Tonk bar, I was introduced to that band because a guy sang 'Free Bird' all the time in karaoke; that was early 2000's. I was intrigued and looked it up and looked up the naming of the band. And one day, sitting with some locals in that bar, they asked me why the name was like that. I told them something to do with teacher or something like that. They were stunned to see this one lone brown foreigner sitting in Honky Tonk bar and knowing about the band!! Then one guy said 'You know because you can read well. Most here can't'. Hahaha!

Edit: I met my wife on a late night in that Honky Tonk bar. And today is our 22nd wedding anniversary! She remains a Christian, a MAGA. I have no issues with that or with anyone's Faith or Lack of Faith.

So who was a comic freak during the younger years?

My English wasn't that good in younger years of the 70s. But my dad's was and he would read a certain comic magazine 'Dr. Strange' to us kids huddled around him and translate for us. Dr. Strange had magical powers, had large Dracula like collared robes, and would raise his arms to make magic happen.

The thread, when I first suggested it and @Fatman17 created it, is intended for the older members (age-wise) to share with others of what they saw and experienced while growing up. To reminisce and reflect back on times that were simpler, less complex, and that much has changed since then.

I doubt there are more than a few here who watched the Apollo 11 landing on the moon live on TV. Or saw the assassination of one and attempted assassination of a 2nd President live on TV. I don't count President Trump. I am referring to Presidents Kennedy and Reagan. One that same note, I did watch the assassination of another candidate for President live on TV: Robert F. Kennedy.

Those of us born in the 50s to the mid-60s lived a lot of the things some of you only read about in history books or see on a Youtube video. And, we often know of details that were left out or glossed over by the history books.
Thank you for your post.
I remember watching President Reagan shooting on 9:00 pm news, I missed the 1965 war by 6 months, so technically not 60 yet, but six months here or there at this age don't make a big difference.

I read the thread title and saw a few members contribute and inferred that most of the members posting here are probably 60 or around that age and decided to contribute, there was nothing wrong or objectionable in my post, there was nothing immature in my post that would suggest I was not around 60, and interestingly I responded to Oscar's post who voluntarily disclosed that he was no where near 60, yet @Fatman17 did not say anything to him (I know Oscar is also a mod but that would be bias and Fatman17 lied when he says he asked that question to everyone) he did not pose that question to Oscar and did not tell him to "fly". His overall attitude was rude and uncivil and inconsistent as is evident from his posts below.

Its a public forum with anonymous people posting from all walks of life, you made a thread, now sit back and assume that people have the intellect to comprehend and contribute as they desire, extend some respect to the posters and intervene only when you have some valid reason not misusing and flashing your mod status.

Are you 60+. If not then fly

Oscar said that but seriously this is for old people who are young at heart

What is it that you don't understand about the thread topic

I asked you in a civil manner if you were 60+ or not and you continue to play mind games with me.
Actually it's your attitude that has triggered me.
I've asked the same Q to others and they understood and left.

All l asked you if you are 60. If you had said so at that time instead of obfuscation you would have been allowed.

Had you said that up front rather than attempting to be an ass, the response would have likely been "honorary membership, enjoy".

Mods are going to do what mods are going to do.

Since you're almost there, welcome to the club. And soon, you will learn things that should be stiff aren't and things that aren't supposed to be are.

And here I was told to never pick up women in bars. :)

Now just need to see a photo of you all dressed up urban cowboy-like.

Bars or brothels, Diamonds in the Rough are present, though not in abundance!
Edit: Believe me: A few Halloweens ago, we DID dress up as 'Urban Cowboys': She, being a Cow Girl! Maybe I will find a pick and edit it and share here. But 100% true!

HAH!!!! That reminds me.....will share it later. Episode from a different life when I needed to go to a brothel.

Yes, there was a legitimate reason.
