Pakistan Air Force | News & Discussions

Coming from a trukish source.

"Pakistan’s refusal to procure China’s J-35 raises new questions over the aircraft’s performance and the state of Beijing-Islamabad military ties."

"Eurasian Times reports that Pakistan ... has dismissed the procurement claims."

"Though many analysts argued Pakistan gained air superiority, others claimed India outperformed with its mix of French, Russian, and domestic technologies."

"John Spencer, chair of Urban Warfare Studies at the U.S. Army’s Modern War Institute, said India emerged “not just militarily, but technologically superior,”

Pakistan is now reportedly interested in acquiring F-16 Block 70 fighters, HIMARS systems, and advanced air defence platforms from the United States."

Economic realities also appear to have influenced the decision. Bound by IMF conditions, Islamabad may have concluded that a $5 billion stealth jet deal was untenable—despite reports of generous Chinese discounts.

I think J-35s should be placed at a dedicated new airbase. PAF should have realized that lack of depth means air bases will have less time to intercept incoming missiles.
A new proper purpose built airbase in central balochistan will be ideal, as any incoming missiles could be tracked over sindh and intercepted.

Bholari was a no brainer...don't know why they built the infrastructure there. Making a base in balochistan will reduce the effective combat range, but aerial refueling can make up for that. Plus stealth jets will need a secure facility. Better if they keep it mum all the way like USA did with B2/F117s
Is bolochistan secure ... Answer is Big No ... terrorist activities are on top with foreign involvement... Then why to place most expensive weapon on such risky place ..

This John Spencer is as questionable as any other low-budget rent-a-journalist/security specialist. Literally a paid evangelist for the Indians who are trying to dig themselves out of the mess that Modi's hubris has created.

Pakistan is all in with the Chinese capabilities. The entire article is sourced with dubious, and outright nonsensical information. Pakistan has NEVER said we are not going with J-35. We may have specific requirements around it but even the DM was careful with not disclosing the specifics.

The very fact of mentioning HIMARS makes this comical. US will NEVER give Pakistan offensive weapons. Even blk-70 is a stretch.

So the idiotic report mentions "economic realities" making the J-35 untenable but HIMARS and blk-70 aren't... :cautious:

The report is pretty "turdie"...
