Turkish Engine Programs

The domestic and national engine LEVEND, developed by BMC POWER, was integrated into the Tugboat-25 owned by the Istanbul Shipyard Command and began service on July 18.

With approximately three times the traction power, it successfully completed its first test voyage by docking Atatürk’s legacy, TCG Savarona, at the port.

We continue to work and produce for our country!

BMC Power will produce diesel engines for National Coast Guard ships and İşbir generators. BMC Power signed a 2MW Main Propulsion Engine and Localization Protocol with the Italian company ISOTTO FRASCHINI MOTORI for the National Coast Guard Ship, and a Domestically Engined Auxiliary Diesel Generator Set Development Protocol with the Turkish Armed Forces Strengthening Foundation (İŞBİR Elektrik). ISOTTO FRASCHINI MOTORI produces diesel engines and marine-rail system power packs for the Italian Fincantieri Shipyard. The company can produce diesel engines and power packs up to 2.2 MW.

This I think is going to be the first significant marine propulsion produced for larger ships in Turkey.

- The Batu Power Pack will reportedly consume less fuel than the Europack power pack!

- The Utku (1000 HP) and Batu (1500 HP) Power Packs projects are nearing completion.

- The hybrid power pack will not be used in the Altay because there is insufficient space in the engine compartment.
