This is the same thing, there is no difference. There is just one detail to be noted: we are talking about a decades-long war, just like in Afghanistan and Vietnam, where the US overthrew the governments of both countries but was later expelled.

Also making sure that Iran will never be a threat to them anymore for a very long time (100+ years)
