BAF Plane Crashes into School in Uttara

being a parent myself to small kids, this is very heartbreaking and very difficult tragedy to witness. May Allah SWT bless the departed innocent souls and grant them highest of Paradise. And May HE give full shifa and recovery to all those injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Bangladesh in this difficult time. I pray such an incident never happens again anywhere.

Ameen.

Same here. Can't imagine the pain parents are going through. Especially those who lost multiple children.

Official Statement from ISPR regarding eager spectators hindering rescue operations.

Warplane crashes in Uttara – Unexpected incident during rescue operations

Dhaka, July 22, 2025 (Tuesday): A Bangladesh Air Force training warplane crashed in the capital’s Uttara Diabari area at approximately 1:18 pm yesterday, July 21, 2025. Several innocent citizens, including children, were killed in this tragic accident. Immediately after the accident, members of the Bangladesh Army from a nearby camp reached the scene as soon as possible and started rescue operations. Activities were carried out in coordination with the Fire Service and other organizations to ensure prompt medical assistance to the injured.

During the rescue operations, a large crowd of eager people appeared at the accident site, which repeatedly disrupted the evacuation and rescue operations. Despite repeated requests from members of the army and volunteers of Milestone School, a significant number of people did not leave the scene, making it difficult to evacuate the injured in time. As a result, the risk of loss of life also increased. The army personnel conducted the rescue operation with utmost sincerity and professionalism. It is to be noted that 14 army personnel engaged in this rescue operation are currently undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital due to physical illness.

During the rescue operation, some eager people did not leave the scene despite repeated requests in the afternoon, creating serious obstacles in the rescue operation. As a result, misunderstandings and arguments arose between a group of eager people and the responsible army personnel and volunteers, which at one point led to an untoward incident.

Considering the seriousness of the incident, the Bangladesh Army has started an investigation. Necessary administrative action will be taken against those found guilty in the investigation.

The Bangladesh Army is always committed to standing by the people and performing its duties with professionalism and utmost responsibility.

Seems the parachute didn't open or it was too late for the parachute to open. Whatever the case, the pilot tried until the last moment, didn't care for his own life. We have so many heroes in this incident, mashallah.

Idiots online are calling the pilot a murderer.
A lot of people have no clue how jet aircraft are operated.
Fighter jets are primarily flown using instrumentation - it is impossible for a fighter pilot to even control-land at a specific part of a field located within a concrete jungle, let alone crash-land a dysfunctional aircraft at it.
The pilot must have targetted the open field and delayed ejection accordingly.

Close footage of plane coming down:

The pilot should have eject3d the moment he lost control. The plane would have crashed at the airport parking and casualty would have been minimum but dude tried to save the airframe and did a go around with his controls down. Classic cuckold airforce and its cuckold mentality officers. Congrats you died and killed some kids too

Wow...pilot attempting go around by steering a malfunctioning fighter aircraft out of the airport and over a built up environment is a huge revelation,
if true. Where did you hear this?
