Pakistan Missiles - Updates, News & Discussion

Yep it was displayed by the NASTP in one of it's promotional vids.
Else why would one put a system up for export if they don't make the engine itself??.

Well to be fair the Turks put an attack chopper up for export and did not make the engines and look how that ended.....

Babur is a tactical cruise missile from day 01. It can be used as dual purpose. But its primarily a tactical weapon for striking important targets (just like tomahawk CMs). We could have easily used Baburs, if such a decision was taken.

India used nuclear capable Brahmos all along. We could have easily used any of our missiles in non-conventional use. Naming / rebranding has absolutely nothing to do with it. We lost an opportunity to use Baburs, Raads and other stuff in actual combat. Its all on our decision makers. We were not deprived of any weapon system. We had all the offensive punch. Indian AD completely failed to even intercept Fatah-1 rockets. Anything that we will hurl at india will hit its targets. Its impossible for india / pakistan to have israel like air defense due to large geographies.

Secondly, Cruise missiles even if sub-sonic are still difficult to intercept because they do terrain hugging and are detected only when its too late. That being said, obviously adding a supersonic CM in our arsenal would be a good addition as well.

Pakistan just need to mass produce these Fatah-4 / or renamed Baburs (if thats' the case). 750km is good range. and next time please don't show too much ""restrain". Actually Raad / Baburs could have done serious destructions and show of strength, had we took a decision. No need for renaming / re-branding. Perhaps army is rebranding it to induct in its artillery. That's more of an internal management then anything else.

Looks like a illegitimate child of Harbah and babur, at first glance I thought they just repainted Harbah or Babur.

Pakistan Unveils New Fatah-4 Cruise Missile

FATAHSS-768x632.jpg

Pakistan has unveiled the Fatah-4, the newest addition to the Pakistan Army’s Fatah family. The Fatah Weapon System missile family consists of a wide variety of munitions ranging from Guided Rockets to Ballistic Missiles and Cruise missiles. As the name suggests Fatah-IV is the fourth distinctive member of Army’s Fatah family, where early 3 examples of Fatah family are ballistic weapons, Fatah-4 meanwhile is a Cruise Missile (likely derived from either the Babur/Harbah Family).

All of the systems offered under the Fatah are conventional in nature with payload’s consisting of unitary, cluster warhead etc. Fatah 4 too is conventional in nature and its unveiling marks the clearest indication yet that the Pakistan Army is moving toward a dedicated conventional rocket and missile force designed for precision long-range strikes. Operationalization of Fatah family of weapons will allow Pakistani Army to conduct tactical strikes without involving Army’s Strategic Forces Command (ASFC), This would be a significant shift from the Pakistan Army’s strategy where it has only reserved its ASFC arsenal of Ballistic and Cruise missiles largely for Nuclear deterrent roles.

With a projected range of up to 750 km+ while carrying a warhead of 330kg, Fatah-4 represents a Low Cost Long Range conventional strike capability, offering low-altitude, terrain-hugging flight for survivability against air defenses. The Missile flies at a speed of 0.7 mach, 50m above ground level while adopting terrain hugging flight path to mask its signature. Additionally the missile has a accuracy of <5m, even much lesser when fitted with a EO/IR seeker.

Fatah-4 is also likely able to use modern technologies from Pakistan’s Harbah program such as the high end Dual mode seeker or single mode seeker developed for Harbah AShM, that use either Radar, EO/IR or both. These seekers can be easily adopted for ground attack role. Furthermore the seeker incorporates AI into the EO/IR module, which would enable the Missile to use image scene matching tech to correctly identify its target in GPS Contested environments.

why we have to make everything in house to export something?

Did we even have any conventional cruise missiles operational?
Yessir, we do, always had them operational. But they were to be used under given circumstances. But now we don't conventional arms have access to them now as it seems

I think next time SEAD/DEAD will be done then these missiles will be used

Indian Air defense did nothing in last conflict. Even our Fatah-1 went without interception. Those made hits. Fatah-1 goes at high altitude, indian air defense even couldn't hit those. I rate our air defense much better then india's. Majority of Baburs / Raads will hit their targets without any interception.

But yes SEAD / DEAD can be done too to ensure 100% strikes.
