8 Mk1 standard trainers and 10 Mk1A standard trainers were ordered... of what? A Tejas Mk.1A?
In fact I cannot read it properly but it looks like LT-5209 ... and since when is this a hint for an Mk.1A?

Given 8 Mk 1 trainers have already been manufactured and are flying and this particular aircraft has a tail number LT 5209 it only makes sense to assume this is a Mk1A trainer,
