Honestly, I’d be much happier if the Ghatak UAV were inducted soon.

Recent conflicts—Russia-Ukraine, Israel-Iran, and even India-Pakistan—have shown that 4th generation fighter jets don’t play a decisive role unless a full-scale war breaks out.

In the India-Pakistan or India-China context, these jets can’t reliably dominate enemy airspace. They usually stay at a safe distance rather than taking risks.

That’s why I believe India should focus more on strengthening layered air defence systems and accelerating the development and induction of stealth aircraft and stealth UAVs.

I think these are good aircraft’s to fill up the numbers. They will do better than Mig-21s.. and will always stay in the hanger (or the Nepal border) during conflict/war time unless Rafales/future 5th Gen fighters are already shot by PL-15s/17s and 21s.

LCA has proven to be a very costly and failed project wasting 4 decades of Indian defence industry

Failed? How?

If jf17 block 3 flying with similar configuration - how can another aircraft can considered failed?

I believe there must be very solid logic 🤔

You too Brutus 😢

I no longer follow Tejas programme regularly so I am not in on updates. But before HAL commits to 97 Tejas doesn't it need to first address the engine issue? With the downward trend in Indo-US relations is India still willing to commit to GE F404 engine for Tejas? If not, then what's the alternative? Also, GE supply of F404 seems to be going very slow, with only two engines handed over so far (correct me if I am wrong). Given the tarrif issue and slow pace of GE it seems doubtful to me that HAL will have enough engines for 12 aircraft starting next year.

GE will be able to deliver 6-12 engine per year max. So the planned procurement of Tejas will take 10+ years with this pace. Unless they somehow convince Americans to fast track deliveries of GE engines.

Honestly speaking

You guys should disband IAF and buy dozens and dozens of S400 batteries

After all they have shot down half a dozen invisible Pakistani aircraft as per your clown chief unlike your aircraft that themselves got shot down
