Impressive production as you elaborated I thought they were only building few for Pakistan

Compared to Turkey's 24 x ship production rate
Pakistan's production rate of 1-2 ships is quite mediocre

Approximate years below ...

First we had focus on Agosta 1999's 1 submarine
First focus was sword class F22 Frigate 2002's I think 1 ship
Then Azmat Class sequential manner 2-3 ships 2010's-2014's
Then it shifted to Milgem ships 2 ships 2020's on ward

Future turn for Jinnah Class
  • 2-3 ships manufactured locally

We have not quite attained that ability to really work on lot of projects same time in ship construction

Perhaps economy has something to do with it between 2000-2020

Add also 4 Zulfiqar class (F22P) to the list plus Jinnah Class will have 8 ships.

Furthermore, while there have been discussions suggesting that the Pakistan Navy may acquire additional MILGEM-class vessels, it is important to clarify that there are currently no plans for further MILGEM acquisitions.

The Navy’s primary focus is on the development and induction of the Jinnah-class frigates (JCF). In parallel, it is in the final stages of negotiations with Italy’s Fincantieri for the procurement of S800 submarines.

Moreover, the Sea Sultan project, Pakistan's indigenous Long-Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft (LRMPA) program remains one of the Navy’s key priorities, reflecting its commitment to enhancing maritime surveillance and anti-submarine warfare capabilities.

Yes that is my understanding as well that after the initial (4) Milgem Corvettes the aim is to focus on bigger (6) Jinnah Class Frigates

The Jinnah Class Ship is a big enhancement so from logical perspective makes sense

As for the Italian Submarines (Midget) , while they do make a nice acquisition, a interesting asset to have but they won't change the status quo
  • Not fully sold on the Italian S800 x 5 mini subs for special Ops I think is bit too much money for small return
  • Special Op Units do play important role but do they really need a mini submarine ??
  • The S800 is a interesting proposition

I feel for now Navy should get 2 more OPV or 2 more Milgem with the funds (If funds are available) [Personal View]

However , if we did actually get the S800 it would be ok as well , there are few specific stuff we could use the S800 for as well

Per the speech of ex Navy Chief plan was for 6 heavier OPVs. So if plans have not changed, 4 more are to be contracted.

Hint also lies in india trying to persuade netherland not to sell to Pakistan. Why would they do it when all the previous contracted OPVs are now already delivered.
 
What's the final configuration for the 8 Jinnah class frigates coming,

It's a frigate but I read somewhere the aim is to pack a lot of punch in them

Also are destroyers something our navy doesn't want or out of budget?

These will be equal in fire power to the Typ054 Big Frigate we got from China

Just with more European Influence (Turkish Senors & Radar), or weapons package from Turkey or Europe

I would imagine the quality will be very comparable but we will have to wait some for these ships to get completed, new designs take some time to get developed
 
This article mentions "expediting" payment for MILGEM-class ships. Don't know if that means more ships are being acquired or if it's for the ones already ordered.

Most likely just payment for past order , new deals are generally announced in public, or at big defence exhibition

In past in a speech , the head of Navy did mention
There was some comment about higher Tonnage ships , unsure if that was Jinnah Class or a Bigger Milgem

Most people assumed it to be the Jinnah Class Frigates as new ship platform which meets Pakistani needs , a full fledged FRIGATE

However a deal for further Milgem would be welcomed (a follow up option)

good news, now the next news eagerly awaiting is

1 - Helicopter selection
2 - SSM's
3 - induction of the remaining 3 ships of that i am expecting 2nd one this this year, 3rd & 4th in 2026
 
All models showed Gokdeniz so it will suprise no-one. But gun based defenses are of no value against hypersonic missiles. It has some utility as a last line of defense against subsonic missiles and best options against drones, and even fast moving surface targets. While the ATOM air burst smart round may help close the gap, it will likely be minimally helpful. Even the damage from the kinetic energy of a hypersonic missiles debris can cripple a ship. You frankly i think Goskur would have been better.
