Lol, Army doesn't have a unified long term procurement Plan and neccessary priority management. They buy whatever the guy in charge (for the time being) feel like it need.

Where did you see the news? I only saw a vague mention of it maybe a year or so ago, but nothing else was heard of it. I don't think we'll be buying any US helicopters.

Do we even have a national defense strategy, policy, white paper or whatever its called?

Man we so much fuked it will take a governments full 5 years term to just unfuk it. "If" they invest their full energy into it.

We have to sanitize our entire ministry level first. But seems like BNP want to maintain the status quo!

I only saw an open tender for refurbished Medium Helcopter. I didn't see any mention of Black Hawks. I don't see why we need to buy them, they aren't all that better than any Russia or Chinese design, not better than Mi-8s and Mi-171s that we use.
As for attack helicopter, its better to buy a dedicated attack helicopter rather than just jury-rig Black Hawks with guns and missiles like we did to our Mi-171s.

This status quo is ofcourse meant to be maintained by BNP since they all profit from it. They'll follow Awami League's blueprint for themselves now.

I admire that India took a stance to not bend the knee under US pressure. They are working to mend relationship with China instead in response to US pressures through sanctions and tariffs. Kudos to them. Wish we were in a position to do the same. Our export basket is way too reliant on RMG export to mainly US.

Our export basket is way too reliant on RMG export to mainly US.

Even if we diversify the developed western world led by USA will be our main customer. Everyone else will be our competition, NOT our export destination.

So we will be reliant on USA for foreseeable future. We should accept it and we should work to develop a better relationship with USA...

Oh well. I am actually less bummed about this deal. Black Hawks aren't exactly bad, we can have a few. I'm much more pissed about the Boeing deal.
