Turkish Defence Industry - Exports & News

How? I thought that project failed?

LENTATEK ( VESTEL ) has the long standing strong partnership and collaboration in the KSA with INTRA.SA

Maybe S.Arabia is undisclosed international customer

LENTATEK ( VESTEL ) exported KARAYEL UAV to Saudi Arabia in 2020

KARGI made its first successful flight in 2018. Since then, foreign components have been gradually replaced with domestic systems, including the RF seeker, warhead, flight and launch motors, propeller, fuel tank, and data link. The platform is powered by TEI’s PG50 engine.

How did the South Koreans do? I always look at them as the benchmark for Turkey.

edit: Oh wow, EDGE Group from UAE ranked higher than Aselsan. #38

The top 100 list is according to 2024 total defense revenue

EDGE Group is almost the sole source of arms-technology supply in the UAE
but in technology level EDGE Group is nothing to compare with ASELSAN

ASELSAN has more than 500 different products, a total of 2,000,000 of which have been exported to 93 countries worldwide

47. TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries)
Fighter Jets , Helicopters , UCAVs , Satellites ,etc

71. ROKETSAN
Missiles .. Ballistic - Cruise -Anti-Ship - Air to Air - SAM - Torpeos -Guided MLRS , Guided Munitions , etc

78. ASFAT
Naval Platforms

80. MKE
Guided Munitions , Bombs , Tank and Howitzer munitions , etc

Also BAYKAR with advanced UCAVs and unmanne stealth Fighter Jets

Turkiye has bigger defense industry than all muslim Countries combined

The advantage of S. Korea is that its major projects are 5 years ahead of its Turkish counterparts, so it has won many tenders.

for example , in 2023 Malaysia chose the FA-50 from S.Korea instead of Turkish HURJET

If this tender were to take place in 2026, Malaysia could choose HURJET, just like Spain

HURJET is no longer on paper

to be fair EDGE is a single entity that covers whole UAE, so that's like basically saying UAE exports total value , UAE exports through its defence conglomerate EDGE

and we are comparing it to Turkish domestic firms

so its like a export of a nation compared to a single company , kind off unfair

if we do a nation to nation comparison

it would mean

UAE exports $2.3 billion
Turkey over $7 billion

if we look at the top Turkish defence companies by 2030+ they will be billion dollar defence export companies by value , and actually Baykar already exports close to $2 billion alone but is not listed due to private limits status

Baykar
TUSAS/TAI
ASFAT
MKE
Arca

Who is buying from EDGE group in the UAE ?

Who is buying from EDGE group in the UAE ?

I think they build a lot of land vehicles and export them to other GCC nations , nothing special because the chassis of those vehicles are already imported

@hyperman is right. In Europe, the situation with Ukraine is similar. Each military donation from Germany is considered an export, meaning that military equipment is being sent out of the country to a foreign buyer. Therefore, it can be seen as an export, yes.

Who would have thought that we're going to export military hardware to Northern and Western Europe one day. Just crazy.

More will come, i am expecting coming years export off SIPER. After Americans attacked with zionists against Qatar.

Now Aselsan have aditional factories for Radar production. And Roketsan for missiles.
