Pakistan-Saudi Arabia mutual defense pact: News & Discussion

To those of you who are discussing whether Saudi Arabia will send troops to aid Pakistan as agreed if a war breaks out between Pakistan and India, I would like to ask, if Pakistan and India go to war, do you need Saudi troops or do you need Saudi economic assistance more?

Come on, we all know the answer. You don't want a weak Saudi military, you want Saudi economic aid.

So why are you continuing to debate this pointless issue?

No one is under any illusions Saudi land or air forces can protect Pakistan.

The political signaling is just as important as the military calculus.

For India, this pact closes the book on any illusions of exhausting Pakistan through drawn-out confrontation. The endurance gap has been plugged.

For Washington, it is a clear rebuke: Gulf monarchies no longer see U.S. guarantees as sufficient on their own and are diversifying their security anchors.

And for China, it is an indirect but significant win: Beijing now operates in a security triangle where its strongest regional partner, Pakistan, has been structurally linked to Riyadh’s defense.

The Yemeni are war heroes. The only ones with balls to take on the Zionist entity to help Palestine. Pakistan should in no way be hostile to the blessed Yemeni.....

According to two narrations in Sahih Bukhari, Muhammad asks Allah to bless the areas of Bilad al-Sham (Syria) and Yemen. When his companions said "Our Najd as well," he replied: There will appear earthquakes and afflictions, and from there will come out the side of the head (i.e. horns) of Satan.

I do have my suspicions with the Najdi (Riyadh) Arabs.

This Alliance is good only if it covers all Muslim/Arab states. Otherwise we'll be defending a regime that MAY be protecting Zionist interests in the region.
Protecting the SLOCs for Saudi and other GCC Tankers should be seen as defensive though.

Btw, now maybe a good time to ask the Saudis to intercede with Trump to have the 15 AH-1Z Helicopters (and 1000 hellfire missiles) to be delivered, alongside a possible request to see if the AH-1F fleet can be modernized and expanded. Pakistan needs more helos for the COIN role. A secure Pakistan, will make it better for Saudi investment in mining.

This pact is a structural reconfiguration of deterrence in South Asia and the Gulf, and it signals the emergence of a new strategic corridor, where China supplies the arms, Saudi Arabia supplies the lifeline, and Pakistan acts as the pivot capable of converting both into real warfighting capability.

Pakistan now enjoys an unprecedented warfighting depth: Chinese arms and ammunition on one side, Saudi oil and money on the other. It is an industrial-scale supply chain that neutralizes the constraints India has historically counted on. My two cents on this.

No China asked Pakistan to do that. If you remember. When khan was removed he invited Chinese foreign minister in oic meeting in Islamabad before he was removed they were already working on it
I mean ditching Chinese gear and going for American . . I don't this is what Chinese have in mind.

Unsure how re recreate Pakistani/Chinese hybrid defence architecture in Saudi

1) Manpower. Yes, Pak has spare but not enough to man an entire parallel system
2) It took PAF 5 years to get to its current netcentric multi domain system
3) Chinese manpower and equipment is safe in Pakistan, Saudi crawling with US military

Maybe it will be easier for Pakistan just to equip with US equipment in Saudi?

We don't need Saudi troops....we can't withdraw some of our frontline troops to protect Saudi deployment..... Saudi troops will be a liability.

I do not know which cave you are living in. The world is moving towards EVs and renewables. The demand for oil is going to be far less than it was.

Saudis are not the largest oil producer. They are the most important oil producer.

India is never a direct buyer of Saudi oil. Whether you like it or not Saudis value their relationship with big oil buyers - USA, China or India

Whether you like it or not but if India doesn't buy Saudi oil directly then SA have no reason to keep million Indians workers. This is two way street.

calmer storms in the Middle East, is the proximal distant future

because entity has chosen wars as a means to exist now!

they are eager to shift the landscapes!

so, the treaty isnt going away even in 5 to 7 years!

The senior Saudi official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, acknowledged the need to balance relations with Pakistan and India, also a nuclear power.
"Our relationship with India is more robust than it has ever been. We will continue to grow this relationship and seek to contribute to regional peace whichever way we can."

And there goes the balloon deflated! Its like Western European would say they have NATO defence treaty with Eastern Europeans but their business partnership with Russia is stronger than ever, which they will continue to grow for regional peace.
That doesnt mean anything, as i have said before. Economic ties don’t override defense treaties. China and India trade over $130 billion annually much much higher than Pak-China trade volume, yet Beijing arms Pakistan with missiles, submarines, and even aircraft often on soft loans. China and Japan trade more than $300 billion, but still face off over disputed islands and would probably be at War, if taiwan crisis falls out.
