Pakistan-Saudi Arabia mutual defense pact: News & Discussion

Many Pakistani including me have the apprehension about Saudi response in future Pakistan-India conflicts. But if, Saudis are coughing up the money and the end result is that PAF transforming into a theatre based air force, in sheer numbers, then game is up for India. PAF already dominates IAF as things stands.

The defense agreement is just that... a deterrent! So it should in theory already dissuade any aggression due to added consequences/considerations.

So that would be the primary interest. However, should there be any aggression Saudis can primarily keep the spigot open for Pakistan's energy needs. However all that is dependant on how a secure corridor can be established between the two for movement of troops, materiel and energy back and forth.

Which is why I mentioned the need to organize this to give this agreement some teeth or it will just act as providing desired optics.

I don't think I'm exaggerating by saying that this truly is the US's Suez moment: Saudi Arabia just entered into a NATO-like alliance with Pakistan whereby "any attack on either country is an attack on both.

"The symbolic is extraordinary: Saudi Arabia was in many ways THE poster child of US client states. If they no longer trusts American security guarantees, why should anyone else?

And of course the fact this actually happened and wasn't prevented by the U.S. is immensely telling in and of itself.

This has so many other consequences that it's almost too much to fathom:

- First of all, it means that Saudi Arabia now benefits from Pakistan's nuclear deterrence (and the deal does include nuclear: a senior Saudi Official told Al Jazeera that “this is a comprehensive defensive agreement that encompasses all military means”, https://aljazeera.com/news/2025/9/17/saudi-arabia-signs-mutual-defence-pact-with-nuclear-armed-pakistan). Which means we now officially have two nuclear-backed blocs in the Middle East: US-Israel vs Pakistan-Saudi. Additionally, Pakistan explicitly rejects a "no first use" doctrine - meaning Saudi Arabia now has a protector willing to use nuclear weapons preemptively.

- Given that 81% of Pakistan's weapon imports come from China (https://scmp.com/news/china/military/article/3302515/china-supplied-81-pakistans-arms-imports-past-5-years-sipri-says), it also means that Saudi Arabia just indirectly aligned itself with the Chinese military-industrial complex.

- This effectively extends the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to the Persian Gulf, protected by Pakistani nuclear weapons and Chinese military technology - creating a secure energy corridor from the Middle East to China that completely bypasses the Strait of Malacca

- The timing is probably no coincidence, just days after Israel's strike on Qatar, the ultimate proof of the worthlessness of US protection.

- Other Gulf states, and probably in due times other countries "protected" by the U.S., are likely to explore comparable models in the next few months. In fact this might lead to a cascading collapse of the U.S. global alliance system, leading to an entirely new international system where regional nuclear powers become security providers.

- Hard to see how that doesn't permanently kill any chance of Israel-Saudi normalization: Pakistan does not recognize Israel either and with this alliance the Saudis now can resist US pressure as they don't solely depend on them for their defense- It puts India in an extremely tough spot: its archenemy just became the security guarantor for one its primary energy suppliers

- This undoubtedly kills IMEC (India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor), the Biden administration's flagship grand strategy to counter China's Belt and Road that was supposed to connect India to Europe via Saudi Arabia

- There is a monetary aspect too: this is another nail in the coffin of the petrodollar system (an agreement to price oil exclusively in USD in exchange for US protection). Saudi Arabia is now much more flexible to price oil in whatever currency it wishesAnd this is just what's immediately visible. As a final word: if anyone had any remaining doubt that we were now in a multipolar world, that debate is now settled permanently. American global dominance is no more.

Which is why you skim over the founding principle of the zionist entity. They are not there to become YOUR friends or cousins or brother... "they're there to rule YOU!" Could it be said in any simpler terms?

They could have chosen to live amongst the locals as they(Palestinians) accepted them with open arms... aloof of the consequences... to only let their generations be destroyed for yet an unknown time to come.
They came in to usher in the apocalypse, The messianic age! Them and their evangelical supporters in the west have just but one goal. The seeming atheists among them are conduits... tagging along as a national cause for world jewry as a race!!!

Its alright I can hit the brick wall one more time. At this point I'm quite used to it...

In this world nations under threat from the expansionist policy of Entity require somebody like "Guarantor of Sovereignty" Pakistan gave it to Iran (Indirectly) and now gave the same to Saudia Arab (openly).

Real question lies what will Pakistan Get from this deal. Saudia does not need our troops or weapons. as some of the posters say so.

they just require nuclear umbrella to guarantee sovereignty and basic command structure.

case in point - If India proceed to attack Pakistan in Oct-25 (which is big possibility) how can Saudia Arab provide their end of bargain - you think they will send F-15s/EF2000 to Pakistan) without US consent? are they independent? past tells us and our own experience this is not so.

so basically, we found the opportunity AND we exploited it - to get the much needed funds to strengthen ourselves military with providing coverage. military hardware purchase funding. 2ndly worst for India is Saudia has invested 45 Billion $ In India - lots of pressure will be on Saudia to stop India. MBS is the same guy who three months ago told us take the hit from India.

MBS has clout in india - lets see what Modi does. he has already issue a new threat just 24hrs ago then this happens.

Great move in chess by Pakistan - but only thing that it dawned on me that for the first time in our history we will be in direct eye contact with the entity.

May Allah help us! May be it's our destiny!

So no source? Thanks.
Trump is in Kings Palace with the British prime minister and European and Western establishment. Israeli's have damage their influence in Asia and Arab world and the whole Western establishment is upset. Israel has damaged too much their influence in Arab world.

The head of the Council of Islamic Ideology in Pakistan, Sheikh Tahir Ashrafi, confirms that the Saudi borders today are the borders of Pakistan, and the borders of Pakistan today are the borders of Saudi Arabia, and we support security and peace, and we endorse the leader of peace, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and we support his vision for the two-state solution..

HE doesn't put a burden on a Muslim nation that it can't bear.....

Hopefully this kills IMEC too, will need official confirmation on that if they decide to do it.

So it seems that our good neighbors (in India) are all wondering about how this new pact will play out.

I'm referring to the: Any Attack on One = Attack on Both

Basically the Indians are just worried that if India were to venture into another Op. Tandoor (reload), would KSA be going to WAR alongside Pakistan.

And the general consensus appears to be: No

Okay, perhaps that may be true & KSA might not get involved directly in a conflict with India...

..., but there is a point that perhaps someone may or may not have pointed out earlier and that is - with KSA's assistance we may be able to sustain a WAR a whole lot longer than (initially) expected.

If most of you all may recall, back in May the conversation from the Indian side used to be that Pakistan can't afford to keep going for more than 2 Weeks.

Obviously, no one is labelling the May conflict as 'War', however, it would be nice to know that we will now have financial backing to...Go To War

Now..., can we Start a Topic about the items (on our wishlist) that we want to add in the Basket...
