Quite the opposite. Israeli/American are anti-Iran. They were never anti-KSA.

You know about Arab oil embargo of 1973 and what happened later to its leader, Shah Faisal ? Israeli/America also had no issues with Iran pre-1979, when they had puppet dictatorship there. They have no issue with that terrorist Jolani, who is in charge of Syria right now either, because he is making pro-West noises. So they are against anyone who challenges their hegemony in Mideast.

This pact and all the statements surrounding it, including ill-advised talk about nuke umbrella and moving into China camp, could be seen as challenging America's mideast hegemony. The always paranoid and aggressive Israelis will see it as a threat.

My viewpoint is the Saudis are still chasing the defense pact with America, but through embrace of China/Pakistan, are signaling to America to drop its stringent conditions for the pact. Pakistanis are mis-understanding this and getting over-excited.

If the GCC Arabs stop issuing new Visas for workers, that we would a good statement of intent. There is natural attrition as some people leave naturally to return home, so the rebalancing can happen naturally over time if you turn off the tap. This can be achieved with the optics of "asking people" to leave either, so more digestible without a lot of theatrics.

paf k ows what usa could do or could not do if they have any doubt they would select some alternate plan. paf guys are very shrewd . i wnot take them as bunch of fools. if some one risking his life vokunteerly then he would make sure that mission should be completed at any cost. people think they know everything and those who fly them regulary dnt know any thing about their machines. if paf is using f 16s then they surely know they would fulfill their mission. thats it.

This is what happens when you mistake hugs for diplmacy. Indians thougt they could play off US v Russia to their benefit and GCC v Israel to their benefit. That is all fine when everything is hunky dory, when shit hits fan, people with side with people they trust.

I am hearing UAE likely to make similar alliance with Pakistan and I don't think if/when that happens then the "dependency" this Indian analyst is talking about is going to be ignored when hiring foreign labor.

If GoP had some sense, they would have asked for some sort of leniency in Quota for Pakistan. For example 1 pak to be counted as 0.5 Pak in neqat program.

That would allow progress for Pakistan and at the same time reduce indian slice of the pie.

Alas.

I think the Saudis may seek to rebalance this naturally, but also Pakistan really needs to work on improving its education and civic society to make more employable people


Better still, it needs to provide a proper economy

This is fine as a short-term tactical measure, once again however do not assume that 2 weeks reverses two decades that easily

If it can be leveraged on India, it can be leverage or Pakistan, the only difference is that it will have an outsized impact on India

Pakistan's advantage of why it can glue together an alliance is that it is a neutral as far as the politics of the middle east are concerned.

I am doubtful of the UAE if they continue to remain part of the Abraham Accords ... Withdrawl from the Abraham Accords has to be a pre-requisite to join, and even then I have serious doubts about the UAE.
