You know about Arab oil embargo of 1973 and what happened later to its leader, Shah Faisal ? Israeli/America also had no issues with Iran pre-1979, when they had puppet dictatorship there. They have no issue with that terrorist Jolani, who is in charge of Syria right now either, because he is making pro-West noises. So they are against anyone who challenges their hegemony in Mideast.Quite the opposite. Israeli/American are anti-Iran. They were never anti-KSA.
This pact and all the statements surrounding it, including ill-advised talk about nuke umbrella and moving into China camp, could be seen as challenging America's mideast hegemony. The always paranoid and aggressive Israelis will see it as a threat.
My viewpoint is the Saudis are still chasing the defense pact with America, but through embrace of China/Pakistan, are signaling to America to drop its stringent conditions for the pact. Pakistanis are mis-understanding this and getting over-excited.
