Hegseth Calls Urgent Meeting For All Generals

Key exceptions to the Act
The Posse Comitatus Act has several key exceptions that permit military involvement in domestic situations under specific circumstances. These exceptions do not overturn the law itself but allow for its suspension.
  • Insurrection Act: This is the primary exception, allowing the President to deploy troops during invasions, rebellions, or when local authorities are unable to maintain order. The President can also use military forces to enforce federal laws or protect civil rights if state authorities are unwilling or unable to do so.
  • National Guard: When National Guard troops are operating under state authority, they are generally not subject to the act. The act only applies to them if they have been "federalized," or placed under the President's direct control.
  • Military purpose: Military personnel can still perform duties related to their primary military responsibilities, even if they overlap with civilian functions.
  • Specific congressional authorization: Congress can pass legislation that specifically authorizes the use of the military in domestic situations.
  • U.S. Coast Guard: The Coast Guard, which operates under the Department of Homeland Security during peacetime, is exempt from the act.
Amendments to the Act
Over the years, the Posse Comitatus Act has seen amendments and legislative efforts to clarify its scope.
  • Expansion to other services: The 2022 National Defense Authorization Act amended the law to include the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Space Force under its restrictions.
  • Efforts to close "loopholes": There have also been legislative proposals to close loopholes related to the use of the National Guard and to reform the Insurrection Act, though not all have passed.

If the US military goes along with this rubbish, America country is gone. This entire clown show needs to be closed down. There is no doubt Trump attempting a fascist takeover. Americans who don’t think so haven’t been paying attention.

'We Are Done With This Sh*t': Hegseth, Trump Blast Wokeness In Military Before Unimpressed Generals

As for President Trump, he sounded similar themes as he spoke from the podium for about 70-minutes. It dealt with military culture, but also political issues facing the nation. He disclosed for one that his administration is mulling making the military "larger".

"We’re thinking about making it larger because we have so many people, and it’s nice to be able to cut people because of merit that aren’t really qualified for any reason, a physical reason, a mental reason, you don’t have to take them anymore, because you have, you have the pick of the litter, and they all want to be with you," Trump said.

"They all want your job. They want to be with you. They want to work with you. They’ll even take your job."

Trump's speech started off a bit awkwardly...

Another interesting moment was when he said Department of Defense should use "dangerous cities as training grounds for the military and National Guard. Common enlisted ranks might not feel to thrilled about that one.

"I told Pete [Hegseth], we should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military, National Guard, but military, because we’re going into Chicago very soon, that’s a big city with an incompetent governor," Trump continued from Quantico.

And on the issue of unruly crowds or demonstrators disrespecting law enforcement and the military, he quipped "they spit, we hit."

"People are standing, their mouth is this far away from their mouth, and they’re spitting at them and they’re screaming at them. And that soldier standing there, he wants to knock the hell out of the person, but he’s not allowed to do anything," Trump said. "I say they spit, we hit. Is that okay? I think so, they spit it’s a new thing. They spit, we hit."

And when rioting crowds throw bricks or rocks at officers, he said: "You get out of that car, and you can do whatever the hell you want to do, because those people are, you now can die from that."

Most Americans are living in denial.

Some argue we lost our Republic during the Civil War, but there is no denying the Republic died with the passing of the Federal Reserve Act in 1913.

Their crazy agenda is to eliminate the military people who do not look or think like they do. Trump and Hegseth speeches I heard were the most terrifying things I’ve ever heard.

A year ago, on this forum, before Trump was elected, I told you all to pack your bags and get out.

Not one of you understood what I was trying to say. Mostly my fault, but it was difficult to articulate what I was seeing about to take place in America once Trump returned to office.

Obama fired top military officers to align Pentagon with his policy vision, now Trump set to do the same

Five months into office President Barack Obama made Army Gen. David McKiernan the first wartime commander to be dismissed since 1951

I live in the U.K. I’m sure Americans knew what trump Standard for, but they voted for him anyway. You get what you pay for I suppose!

On April 15, 1861, President Lincoln issued a proclamation calling for 75,000 volunteer militia members to suppress the Southern rebellion and ordered Congress to convene in an emergency session on July 4. This call to arms was in response to the Confederate attack on Fort Sumter, which had surrendered two days prior. The proclamation, based on a 1795 law, was designed to put down the insurrection and ensure the rule of law.

I wonder if the time will come for Americans to have the black Vigo experience.

Your Secretary of defence, Pete is saying be like the Russians don’t let pesky human rights get in the way. Are they setting the stage for mass extermination of non MAGA Americans?

I do believe it was me you were having that discussion with. Was merely pointing out to RR when he mentioned that Hegseth was only a major that there have been others of similar rank or even less. There are pros and cons both ways; a civilian SecDef vs. one who served. In the case of the civilian, that civilian needs to be a damn good manager and not just a political flunky, which some of them absolutely have been. The SecDef is already surrounded by good leaders, or should be.

The issue though as I see it is, and this started back during the first term of the Obama administration, is the move away from the core mission to being a social experiment and DEI. How many of those officers and CSMs sitting there today do you think were the field grade officers and junior sergeants 12-15 years ago? Probably a good majority.

As noted earlier in the day, I didn't listen to the speeches. Was planning to wait for the transcripts to come out.
There is always the dilemma, do you want a pure civilian to put in charge of the Department of Defence (Not going to call it Department of War), because if you had a incompentent bureaucrat, then you will end up like the Politburo in Soviet Russia, but if you had a power hungary military person in charge (they are military even if they are civilian), it will ended up like Argentina Junta.

Another issue is, as I point out with the Brits, if you put a low-level reserve officer in charge, the rank and file may not support that person; that's why they bumped Penny Mordant rank 5 grade after she took the job, so bsically, what you need is either a person with or had the rank that outrank everybody, meaning you can only put a 4 stars in this position, or you put a person with no millitary experience with the position. But either way, you need someone with a career in politics to hold said position, be it military or civilian. I think the US is the only country I know that has any senior political role held by a non-politician. In countries like the UK, Canada, and Australia, this role is always held by a Member of Parliament, which in the US, would be someone who is serving the Congress.

As for DEI or the problem of not being "manly". I don't know whether or not this issue has crept up this badly since Obama. I left the Military when Obama came to power, but for it to have any negative effect, the military needs to be such a bad state to have said the 20% DEI hires make the military this bad. Now, I can't compare because I know nothing about what is the quality of the US military now, but what I see and what I heard is largely the same and Trump didn't have any issue with DEI hire the first time around, so I think this is a concept where everyone needs to read their label carefully. Is it really this bad that you need to get rid of, not just stop the practice, but get rid of the effect of DEI, which you can't do without damaging the existing structure? Me? I don't think so, and it's gonna be pointless anyway, because the next guy from the other party comes in, they will just revert everything, so this does not make any sense unless we start to become a one-party dictatorship and this is the government from now on.

For me, I don't see a female soldier as a female soldier, I see a person under my command, and history has proven if you put a female next to the line, they are going to do what you tell them to do. In war, I don't need people to look good, stay clean, I need them to do what I told them to do, this is not a performance factor, now whether or not men is stronger, faster, and more competent is really dependable becuase while I see men perform excecptionally, I also see women perform exception, in fact, the fact that I am here writing a post on an internet forum is owe to some women manning the M2 machine gun pinning down the enemy so I can regroup, and GTFO, and that women had never been trained with a M2. At the same time, were there incompetent women? Sure, but equally, you have incompetent men. We need to stop thinking about this being a sex or gender thing; this is something beyond that. We need to not let unqualified people join the military, and that does not just mean women. The standard of the military is going down in drain, not the standard of military women is going down in drain.
