At least now Russia repeatedly clearly officialy stated , that doesn't recognize any return of UN sanctions and therefore doesn't recognize any obligations from it.

Russia says a lot of things, actions are what matter.

Let’s see if a single plane gets delivered. Based on document Russia can drag its feet for a while.

Judging by the document, there, in general, everything goes as originally was agreed beetwen Iran and Russia. Acc to contract, the electronic equipment for assembly the Iranian Su-35 should be delivered to assembly plant in period between 16-18 and 46-48 months after the 15% advance payment. I.e. If Iran paid somewhere in 2022, then the equipment for assembling the Su-35 should be delivered to the plant for assembly at best in 2024-26 + It takes time for the assembly of aircraft, their tests, etc. Accordingly, the delivery somewhere in 2026-28 as it's written in X post.

There is no proof Iran got any ToT. And zero chance Russia is going to hand over AL-31 tech to Iran.

Go look at India that PAID FOR ToT via the joint SU-57 project and got nothing of value. Russia doesn’t share ToT on planes.

we know they have delivered Yak-130 training jets, and they continue to deliver more Yak-130 in recent weeks. and Iranian pilots have been in Russia for training for several years. 2026-28 timeline for delivery of su-35 makes sense.

but sure, I understand your concerns, they are well founded. Russia has a history of reneging its promises. but they also did deliver s-300pmu2 in the end and we also missed some good opportunities to buy better equipment after fall of Soviet Union.

I wondered if the deliveries is for 2026 to 2028 then why our pilot are not already in Russia being trained and why only 24 ecm pods

Many in Europe are already tired of the war. Winter is also coming. Putin knows the West doesn’t like long conflicts - it’s already been 3 more years, in another 3 more years Ukraine will be a 3rd world country and Europe population will have ejected these EU leaders. Populism is on the rise.

The negotiations haven’t even begun that was merely a formal start of what is likely a multi year process. Russia isn’t filled with reformists willing to jettison their cards at the first sign of US complacency.

They are supplying an outdated defensive weapon after 3 years which is a lot different than supply fighter jets to your sworn enemy.

Turkey supplied drones and weapons that killed hundreds (maybe even thousands) of Russian soldiers early in the war and still Russia used Turkey for mediations and has good relations with Turkey (even better than Iran given that Putin offered SU-57 to Erdogan and S-500). Russia doesn’t care about its soldiers as much as you think they do. When Israel used a Russian SIGINT plane as cover from Syrian AD missiles, what did Russia do over those deaths? Just some angry bluster and inconsequential moves.

We have been told this relationship has changed for 3 years now and besides some gold and a few trainers, what has Iran gotten for standing up for Russia’s war in Ukraine? When Russian bombers landed in Iran to refuel, there was uproar by this pathetic Majils.

Iran’s government is only able to be allied with militias and rag tag insurgent groups, it has not true alliance with any country of consequence, you can thank the IR’s “neither east nor west” strategy for that along with having the worst axis nations in history as their choice of friends (China and Russia).
