probaby 3x as much.

but remember, its not a small upgrade, the APG83 has 75% hardware commonality with the F35, and 90% software commonality.

Its a significant leap in capability, the closest to a 5th gen you can get from an upgrade to a legacy platform.
We need F16V upgrade+SLEP for all our F16s

asking from grok with feature using search all over from internet about "Utilization of AIM-120C-8 Maximum Range by MLU and block 52 radars i.e. AN/APG-66(V)2A and AN/APG-68(V)9, i got the following response

No, neither variant can fully utilize the AIM-120C-8's maximum range due to radar limitations. The radars' detection/illumination ranges (74 km for MLU, 104 km for Block 52+) are well below the missile's potential, limiting launches to shorter distances where the target can be reliably tracked and illuminated (typically 50-80 km for MLU and 70-100 km for Block 52+).
these values seem very, very wrong, maybe for the balseline apg 68

maybe i dont know but that is what grok gave me.
and waisay SABR upgrade pay kitna kharcha aayega? i guess 2-3Million USD per aircrft? why not opt for that agar incase V nahi milta which is very expensive.
aur dosri baat can we upgrade MLU one with SABR also? block 52 APG 68(V)9 ka tau we know but not sure about MLU APG-66(v)2?

its all a worthwhile and comprehensive upgrade pack- its trying to turn the f16 into a 5th gen supporting asset, so its really meant to be an all encompassing thing to bring an order of magnitude of new capabilities to the f16s

Should PAF go for F16V+SLEP for its ADF ones??

If a V deal goes through along with J-35s, pretty much game over for the IAF.

You cannot go up agains J-10Cs, JF-17Cs, F-16Vs and J-35s with just 32 remaining Rafales.
I don't think J35s will come soon until and unless IAF opts for fifth gen. Moreover, don't forget about additional order for Rafales( I think its 114)+ IN's Rafale-M. India may also go for super sukhoi upgrade

no- block 52
The DSCA quote offers APG-68(V)9 or APG-66(V)2 for MLUs—did PAF uniformly choose (V)9? and how does that make Block 15 airframes/engines truly equivalent to Block 52+ (e.g., no CFTs or PW-229 power)? Isn't this more Block 40/50-like as @Fatman17 said?

yes we already downed 4 and according to our air force we could have downed more , so not that worried and also its Made in India rafales and god knows how long that's gonna take . we would probably have j35 before they get those rafales

The MLU provides many capabilities of blk 52. Arsalan01 is correct

now the question is for block 52 with PW-229 we can get SABR upgrade with AN/APG-83 upgrade with minimum cost but for MLU with PW-220 we may need to upgrade the engine too for SABR upgrade? @arslank01

nah, you can manage without the eng upgrade, the avionics is the key bit

One Question in my mind is how will these Long Range BVRs fare in future conflicts? IAF learnt their mistakes and fired from standoff ranges on 10th, so in A2A role, how effective will they be, considering IAF will want to stay out of TEZ/WEZ and go standoff
