If the Taliban and TTP decide when a conflict starts by provoking you into a conflict, and then they decide when the conflict stops and you adhere to the schedule set by the Taliban/ttp then you neither have deterrence or escalation dominance. You come off looking weak. If Pakistan stops because Afghanistan says, right, we are done now, then Pakistan looks like a bit clueless..

Interesting theory but safely dismissed, since other concrete steps had already been taken by Pakistan against the Taliban regime even before today, e.g. deportations. Moreover, had your theory been credible, the Talibs would have co-ordinated with Islamabad WITHOUT visibly involving Delhi.

It is safe to say that the context around today's confrontation is pretty much exactly as it seems to be.

Pakistan has never conditioned adverse relations with India for any of her bilateral relations.

Sir this is a question I ask myself. We need to hit deep inside Afghanistan. Its the only way - covert infil and exfil. I mean SSG was modelled on the SAS and the SAS's bread and butter was such operations.
