Such ops are easier to defend on diplomatic front internationally when the enemy makes the mistake of allowing such operations due to its own doing. There are other stakeholders inside Afghanistan also (especially USA) who also monitor what Pakistan is doing, apart from the talks that GOP had with Talis over TTP and other agendas. Talks are over now, thanks to India throwing Talis in the mix against Pakistan.

Afghan should carefully think who advised to attack Pak yesterday is now the reason for a weak gov in Afghan and in future it will lead collapse. It was a sucidie act and that advisor of Taliban should be live hang.

That era is over. Pakistan survived 20 years of NATO presence in Afghanistan. The threat to us is not from NATO, USA or Israel, who don't want our territory or replacement of our population l The threat to our existence is from two crazed medieval religious fundamentalist regimes in power on both our eastern and western borders. Both regimes have medieval dreams of conquering Pakistan and replacing the population The Hindutva regime to the east wants a Greater ( Akhand ) Bharat by capturing Pakistan and eliminating its population and the so-called Islamic Emirate wants a revival of the Ghurid empire to subsume Pakistan into the "Emirate" , seize control of its weapons and nuclear assets and reduce the population into unarmed vassals of a colonized protecorate.
While the threat from the Hindutva regime can be countered by various means including the ultimate nuclear martyrdom scenario, the threat from the fundamentalist fascist Emirate is more complex. The comforting fact is that unlike the Hindutva regime the Taliban have never fought a conventional war in an offensive mode against an adversary defending its land. A comforting fact: Historically Afghans ( or whatever they called themselves over the ages) have never won against Muslim adversaries.

Pakistan must increase significantly the dosage it is administering in Afghanistan and target key Taliban instillations to make future attacks from Afghanistan extremely cost prohibitive for the Taliban. Pakistan must not confine its response to the border regions. Such tactics failed to deter India. The pain and cost must be felt at the enemy’s heartland.
