Do not stop now, give Trump a opportunity to claim ceasefire deal.

If we play our cards right this afghan beating could pay for our amraams and f-16s.

A few thoughts. My heart goes out for the sad loss of 23 Pakistani bravehearts who made the ultimate sacrifice. Inna lillahi wa inna alai hi rajaoun. NO ONE should forget this!

The cost for Afghans through conventional means has to be raised exponentially for each life lost. Our kill ratio cannot be something like 1:2. It needs to be an over-match and an overkill in order to set the right deterrence.

The interesting thing is that in every single conflagration, the Taliban and prior Afghan army took significant damage. This was the reason that the border was relatively calm in the times prior to the American invasion.

This lesson has unfortunately been lost on the Taliban who think they single-handedly defeated foreign powers (even though in reality without Pakistan's support they could not do diddly). It needs to be re-learnt iA.

The vast majority of us Pakistanis were/are still favorably disposed towards Afghans/Afghanistan but their own words/actions betray a deep-rooted hate/sense of superiority (for reasons that nobody in the world understands) over Pakistan.
They hate Pakistan/Pakistanis more than all of their occupiers including the Soviets and Americans who mass murdered them and desecrated their women and girls. Yet, all the hate is directed by them to Pakistan which is still hosting 4 million brethren of these shameless Afghan Taliban and elite.

I seem to remember in February trump set aside 400 million dollars for supporting Pakistani f-16s in counter terror operations. Perhaps those funds can be released now

Taliban won't care even if thousands are killed. They will be happy that their friends have gone to heaven.

If we must do this then there needs to be some territory taken away from Afghanistan. If there are any known mines or other resource rich areas near the border, those should be annexed. Even if its just a salt mine, it should be taken away.

The IBG structure of IA will not take weeks to arrive but conventional ground warfare is not how India wants to damage Pakistan. They left that to Afghanistan for now since India has suffered losses at Pakistan's hands already so India wants to strike in such a way which will avoid any loss to India.

Here’s my 2cents on this situation. If I am off target over 50% then simply reply “No”.

India post 26/11 with the help of US & allies has created a space for itself where it attacks Pakistan through large scale terror attacks. These strikes have helped India create an image of a failed state Pakistan & demoralise the people of Pakistan. Though Pakistan has responded over the years, but the scale of response was deliberately kept under a certain threshold. This was largely due to the situation in Afghanistan post 9/11. With the western crusade winding down in Afghanistan & things becoming easier for Pakistan on its western border, India upped its threat & use of its conventional forces to maintain status quo. Poor leadership, internal political instability & economic upheaval delayed Pakistans efforts to undo this status quo.

Jaffar Express was the straw that broke the camels back & finally pushed Pakistani leadership to do what was needed.

India wants to maintain the status quo of attacking Pakistan with large scale attacks through its proxies. Pakistan has decided to fight India’s proxy at the source but should there be another large scale attack on Pakistani civilians, Pakistan must respond in kind & not be bothered by India’s attempt to browbeat Pakistan by its conventional forces. One lesson that Pakistan “absolutely must” learn from the Israel/Iran conflict is “leadership targeting capability”. Iran & resistance failed to develop that capability & it showed. Pakistan must not neglect it. Indian leadership is perfectly happy with spilling civilian blood. Pakistan must not hesitate either but what’s most important is that Pakistan must target the right demographics to hit back.

I'm not a military strategist so I don't know much
But Taliban are a guerilla warfare army

Their response would come couple months from now
I hope we know that and are not just satisfied with conventional point scoring.

But I hope our army officers who get paid way more than us would already know that and are planning for such an offense.

but this time it really seems like this will be the 'new normal'
any major attack on our troops and we will wipe out the Afghan Taliban warriors just across the border
