How do you expect all this to happen while Taliban rule?
Indeed it is very difficult to do social uplifting in Afghanistan when even the 'reformed' Taliban are not much better than the Taliban of the 90s. But toppling the Taliban regime is not easy for a country like Pakistan--and there has to be an alternate power to take over. And who would that be? The Tajik-based Northern Alliance? They are minority population. But long term, as I see it, a more moderate faction of the Afghan Taliban--and there IS one such entity--combined with other ethnic groups.
Otherwise, you can't nuke 40 million people into extinction. And you absolutely shouldn't.

I think a buffer zone, surveillance, proper enforcement of law and ID, and intelligence is the least worst option
Excessive war has close to removed the concept of civilization from Afghanistan, just the basic functioning.
Pakistan is trying to fix itself, it cannot tutor a country like Afghanistan

Buffer zones are virtually impossible. I had written about that a few posts above and others can also chime in.

All that hooh hah with Trump by Shobaz he could have requested him to have CENTCOM provide as with Satellite intelligence and real time targeting info

Bring another proxy... let them fight it out
Which proxy ? What is the guarantee that one would also not behave the same as the TTA and all the investment would not again go down the drain ?

Zabiullah Mujahid publicly stated the taliban never asked for a ceasefire.

Pakistan denies asking for a ceasefire.

Thus, there is no ceasefire.
