Oh, the Americans knew, and Pakistan knew that the Americans knew. The Americans complained about it constantly, but there wasn't much they could do. what helps is that Gen Tariq Khan has soft spot for PTI/ Imran and is from Tank , a proven vetern and a winning general ..so it will be great if this really happens and Pindi should support such mobve.
but this to happen, PTI must appoint him and he shouldnt be sent as chief secretary or a governor by the centre which will be seen PTI as a threat.,

Gen saab would probably be in his early 70s... Let him live his life in peace, the occasional article is more than enough.... I think he would avoid all political crap... Divide Afghanistan between north and south, split tajik and uzbek areas from Afghan areas, take away the geostrategic importance... That's the only solution... As much as he may sympathize with IK and PTI, I don't think he wants to get involved.

He's an army man first and foremost. He won't do anything that could harm the unity of the Armed Forces, even if he vehemently opposes the army chief entirely.

As it is, Pakistan is literally the only nation keeping Indian borders safe from the taliban, both Afghan and Pakistani.

Correct, sir! I have written on the same lines in this thread-lost somewhere in the 500 plus pages. And that is why I maintain that it is in interest of both IND and PAK to come to a modus vivendi in Kashmir.
