Iran has attacked at least 2 helicopters in the preceding months. However, it seems now Iran is too scared off causing US casualties and reigniting the hot phase of the war.

Back to the disastrous Khamenai policy of “Strategic Patience” that caused Iran to lose so much influential gains and built up deterrence the last 15 years.

I don’t think it’s that simple and sometimes it takes patience for traps if there is one

Reading a lot of chatter about the new appointments signal a more aggressive posture. How do you read these moves by tehran?

Abdollahi and Heydari are not 'hardliners' they are just competent and senior guys with a lot of experience. Vahidi and Izadi are hardline but head of IRGC is usually like that.

Vahidi and Rezaee seem to be Mojtaba's most trusted allies

I won't disagree.

Others can thump their chests all they want: "the Strait is open and there is nothing Iran can do about it".

When traffic is only at 10% of what it would otherwise be, it's effectively closed. No ship owner is going to want to risk its hull or crew.

Good thing the U.S. is going up against Iran who approaches everything super cautiously. If Ukraine was in Iran shoes it would have set everything in Middle East on fire with no regards to diplomacy.

Mojtaba is well assessed. If this pause would be counterproductive for Irán, It would be shoot down.
