They tried that option in Syria and successfully overthrew Syrian establishment and replaced it with a Wahabi aligned group led by a former Al-Qaeda/ISIS terrorist.

Irony is Zionists try their best to portray alliance of US' regional dogs as a Sunni alliance to at the very least project those terrorists as Sunnis. Its wrong to compare and a disrespectful comparison to holy Sunni figures. But for sake of argument and to highlight a few points, the Sunni caliphs expanded Islamic lands from east to west and this so called Sunni alliance claimed by Zionists composed of Jordan, KSA, Qatar, Kuwait etc (dogs of Anglo and remnants of Roman empire) gifted Syria to their masters on a golden plate.

Its up to fair minds to decide which front is currently defending the remaining legacy of Sunni caliphs and who gifted Afghanistan/Syria/Libya/etc to remnants of Romans and the Anglo savages.

Many will argue that the Sunni Diamond alliance may be considered by Israeli as friendly to them as many of these countries are friendly to the United States which also literally controls them ... None of them has a real independent foreign policy outside what the United States tells them to do

Although the governments are US puppets from Bangladesh to Morocco - especially after the recent colour revolutions in South Asia - not convinced people will just sit back and watch their countries slaughter Muslims in ME.
