The Asian Games are officially underway in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Saturday and the numbers alone tell part of the story: this is a sporting event that is bigger than the Paris Olympics in athlete participation, while also offering a programme that looks markedly different from the world's biggest multi-sport spectacle.
More than 11,000 athletes are expected to compete at the 20th Asian Games, compared with about 10,700 at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

This is the worst Asian Games ever. Even the Indians are complaining about the organizations and facilities. To cut costs, "Organizers of 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya and Aichi, Japan, are housing thousands of athletes in temporary wooden container units and an Italian cruise ship instead of a traditional dedicated athletes' village. [1, 2]." What Japan has became lately ? A poor third world country as witnessed in the joke 2021 Tokyo Olympics and this Nagoya and Aichi Asian Games ?

Will China win over 200 Gold Medals at the 2026 Asian Games?​

The second biggest athletics event in the world behind the Olympics begins 19 September. The 20th Asian Games will be hosted by Japan and will cover the likes of martial arts, aquatics and cycling.

China has topped every single medal table since 1982. They are the most successful nation in the history of the competition with 1,674 gold medals across the editions, 590 more than the second-place Japan. In the most recent Games in 2022, China won 201 Gold Medals which is the record for Gold Medals won in the 75-year history of the competition. This year they are showing faith in the youth of their nation, more than 70% of their athletes are under the age of 22.

Japan holding the home ground advantage may be a problem to China’s chances of replicating that record. In the last 3 Games, the host nation managed to make the top 5 of the medal table with at least 30 Golds; for a country as already successful as Japan that boost can be very dangerous. This is also only their third time ever playing hosts and the first time in a generation as their most previous hosting role came in 1994. With a great deal of national pride as well as medals to win they will be firing on all cylinders. China should still enter favourites to win the overall medal table, but how dominant that victory can be remains to be seen.

China got over 200 gold medals in the last Asian Games in 2022, but that was in Hangzhou, China enjoyed home advantage. It'll be very hard for the Chinese athletes to pull off the same feat this year in Japan.

Not in sports. East Asians do well but Black people are definitely by far the most athletic. Western countries are still stronger in most sports.

But in Asia, the big three, China, Japan Korea are the only ones that are competitive.

Black people are definitely by far the most athletic.

They have more explosive strength in certain things like jumping and running but their hand speed, coordination, balance, dexterity, reflexes and many other things are physically inferior to east asians.

blacks bodies evolved for chasing down their prey often running tens of kms until they tire their prey out. Asians body due to early farming etc was more built for fighting and war which required greater fine motor and gross motor skills
