Indian MMA fighter refuses to accept semi final loss at Asian Games 2026

I understand the shock she must be feeling though. In Bollywood, Indians win everything from Connect4 to MMA. Reality must come as a shock.

You don't understand the feeling of a sportsman, who does hard work for years and if ended his/her journey in wrong way. You just jumped because she is an indian

After doing so much hard work and fighting all the way to a draw, getting eliminated like this must have been extremely hard for Suchika to digest.

She may have shown great sportsmanship afterward, but moments like this can be heartbreaking for any athlete. When two competitors are so evenly matched that the result has to be decided by a very small tiebreak factor—in this case, morning weight—it can feel particularly difficult after all the effort put into reaching the semifinal.

Sport can sometimes be extremely unforgiving in these situations.

She fought Hui Hoon Teo of Singapore in the women’s 60 kg MMA semifinal.

After regulation, the bout went to a 1-minute overtime

The result was a draw.

The competition’s tiebreak procedure was then applied. With the other tiebreak factors unable to separate them, pre-fight morning weight was used. Teo was about 700 g lighter than Suchika, so Teo advanced to the final.

In sports you got to take your losses on the chin and move on. Sore losers and bragging winners are the worst.

Nagoya (Japan), Sep 24 : Abuduaini Tuergong won the men's discus title at the Asian Games 2026 on Thursday, ending a 24-year wait for China to reclaim the gold medal in the event.

Abuduaini threw 64.26 metres on his third attempt to take the title, while his compatriot Wu Nanjun finished second with 61.58m.

The 29-year-old, a two-time Asian championships winner who broke the Chinese national record several times last year, was visibly emotional after the victory.

"It's been more than 20 years since China last won the title. Now we've brought it back," Abuduaini said. "I'll call my family and friends when I get back to my hotel, and then have a good sleep."

Abuduaini took bronze at the Hangzhou Asian Games three years ago. He said gaining more than 20 kilograms since then had helped improve his performance, reports Xinhua.

"I weighed around 113 to 114 kilograms in 2023, and now I'm 140 kilograms," he said. "I made that sacrifice to improve my performance. Adding more than 20 kilograms has made me more stable in all aspects."
