No matter the outcome this time around, we should never underestimate the other side. Overconfidence would be at our own peril.
PAF needs to move at war footing to plug the gaps and enhance capabilities. Hopefully AHQ is fully alive to the needs to address gaps and enhance capabilities for any future eventuality.
The other side too has good pilots and operators. We mustn't forget the 1965 to 1971 evolution on the Indian side post the reverses suffered by them in 1965. Our circumstances were different in 1971, but IAF plugged a lot of their gaps. Unfortunately Pakistan was under sanctions which affected us more than the IAF.

Looking at this list (for what ever it is for), there is a lot of "title" inflation going on there, just look at how many Group Captains, Wg Cmdr there are in that list !!. Only the IAF can reward failure like this.

Yeah, again goes back to the culture they have their. The more senior you are the more subservient people are to you. If their CAS can lie about kill claims, then yes, senior officers now will demand fake bravery awards. The rot seems to have set in....

Many fighter pilots can spend their entire careers never having fired a real air to air missile, even in training, let alone in combat. These professionals had that opportunity, and they were not found wanting when the moment arose. That is the hallmark of professionals.
