A-5, (Fantan) of Pakistan Air Force

During the entire 80s I remember all of India going apeshit over the F-16. It was like Freddie Kruger slept next door to them every night according to their media....
yeah i wanted to ask these questions to older members , how was it when paf got f16 and when pak tested nukes

Nuke tests matched theirs, no big deal, it was an equaliser. F-16 was. a MASSIVE deal. Nothing like it ever since in terms of the capability it introduced to South Asia. Only thing that will repeat it will be 5th Gen introduction

Yup F16s did really give them sleepless nights…

But remember we had to worry about the red airforce to our west.. with their constant border violations

My memory tells me this aircraft had to be rebuilt every 200hrs of flying at depot level ? I don't know if that was true or not ?
Yep. The engines had to be rebuilt every 100 hours in Chinese service and every 120 hours in Pakistani service.

In the 80s the Soviets were a bigger threat then the Indians, if the The communists had won they would have used scuds on Pakistani cities, Afghans will try inflict mass death no matter their capabilities.
