90% of the Tibetan population living in "Free TIBET" under the Dalai Lama were slaves bound to their aristocratic masters, it's the poorest region in the whole world due to its backward system and harsh natural environment, people could barely live to 30 years old.

Last year, Tibet GDP per capita, for the first time in history, surpassed $10,000, it's about to cross the "developed nation status" set by UN.

life in today's Tibet, real humans, no longer slaves, babies won't be born into slavery just because their parents were slaves.

Changes in society are chiefly due to the development of the internal contradictions in society, that is, the contradiction between the productive forces and the relations of production, the contradiction between classes and the contradiction between the old and the new; it is the development of these contradictions that pushes society forward and gives the impetus for the suppression of the old society by the new.

Yudron is a 92 villager living in Samyai Town of Shannan City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
In old Tibet, Yudron's family, as serfs, huddled beneath a moldy blanket in cold winter nights, which was the only thing they had for warmth.

"The serf owner said we were born to toil like yaks," Yudron recalled, adding that she had to spin wool for the serf owner to get tsampa. "I labored from dawn to night just to earn a handful of tsampa," she said.In days devoid of warmth, the death of her parents, who passed away due to illnesses as they couldn't afford medical treatment, is the most heartbroken memory for Yudron.

In March 1959, people in Tibet launched the democratic reform that ended the region's feudal serfdom. About one million serfs like Yudron, who was given farmlands and houses following the democratic reform, became owners of the land for the first time.

Now, Yudron's family enjoys a flourishing life. Her grandson runs a Tibetan sweet tea shop frequently visited by neighbors and locals. "Our life today is sweeter than sweet tea. I really wish my parents could see the happy life now," the elderly who has witnessed Tibet's development stated.
