Absolutely, their country, their rules

As long as they keep it in Afghanistan, it will be however interesting if these rules and laws will stop the rampant degeneracy and rundiism effecting much of the rest of the world that handled to demographic, marriage and relationship collapse

Look the Afghan Taliban want to implement Islamic law in Afghanistan. Fine.

Afghan Taliban needs to show the world that they support women's rights.

The West keeps crying about women's rights. Yes women's rights are important in the success of a nation and supporting the national economy.

But I also blame the West's dishonesty and hypocrisy, when they haven't even produced a women president.

Pakistan has produced a female Prime Minister? When will USA produce a Female President?
The West keeps crying about women's rights. I believe strongly in women's rights as well.
Islam promotes women's rights.

But the West needs to stop using Women's rights as an excuse to invade other countries and cause mischief in somebody else's country.

Afghan women not barred from speaking to each other: morality ministry​

Women in Afghanistan are not forbidden from speaking to each other, the Taliban government’s morality ministry told AFP on Saturday, denying recent media reports of a ban.

Afghan media based outside the country and international outlets have in recent weeks reported a ban on women hearing other women’s voices, based on an audio recording of the head of the Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (PVPV), Mohammad Khalid Hanafi, about rules of prayer.

PVPV spokesperson Saiful Islam Khyber said the reports were “brainless” and “illogical”, in a voice recording confirmed by AFP.

“A woman can talk to another woman, women need to interact with one another in society, women do have their needs,” he said.

He added, however, that there were exceptions according to Islamic law, such as those described by Hanafi that women should use hand gestures instead of raising their voices to communicate with other women while praying.

Women in Afghanistan are barred from singing or reciting poetry aloud in public, according to a recent “vice and virtue” law detailing sweeping codes of behaviour, including that women’s voices should be “concealed” along with their bodies when outside their homes.

Women’s voices have also been banned from television and radio broadcasts in some provinces.

The law codified many rules the Taliban government has imposed based on their strict interpretation of Islamic law since they came to power in 2021, with women bearing the brunt of restrictions the United Nations has called “gender apartheid”.

The Taliban authorities have banned education after secondary school for girls and women, also barring them from various jobs as well as parks and other public places.

The Taliban government has said all Afghan citizens’ rights are guaranteed under Islamic law.

There is a thread about Gaza, with over 50,000 replies as of this moment. People are almost universally horrified by their plight, and are in no way ignoring it. There are also multiple threads about Lebanon and Iran and the middle east quagmire.

(But, as you point out, none that I can see regarding the genocide and horrors in Sudan.)

Aren't humans capable of empathizing with multiple entities? Does the massacre in Gaza mean that we have to be silent about the soul crushing policies of the Taliban in Afghanistan?

Humans can be capable of that.....but hypocrisy makes it difficult or impossible for some and maybe many. Thankfully not all.

It's more a case of what suits my worldview.
And people will flip flop on principles for it.

After all, here in the US many elected Trump - not so because they all liked him but they were OK with many of the over reaching by the extreme left.

I'll give you a funnier example - there is a section of Lahore elite who can be found schmoozing with the establishment or are from military families and are seen at Sep 6th military remembrance events or reading off bellicose scripts including some pretty serious anti-India statements including never talking until Kashmir is settled - blah blah!
- but when Javed Akhtar(Brilliant individual) came to visit they could be found kissing his hands and bawling like he was the second coming of christ .

So, it really comes down to what suits the individual and where their line is.

My wife works for a UN agency that operates in Af too. Sometimes, I pass by I overhear bits of conversation she has with ladies in Af.

Afghan Taliban carry out sixth public execution since 2021​

KABUL (AFP): Taliban authorities in eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday executed a convicted murderer by gunfire at a sports stadium, in the sixth public execution since their return to power according to an AFP tally.

The man was shot with three bullets in front of thousands of spectators in Gardez, the capital of Paktia province, according to an AFP journalist at the scene.

The evening before the execution the governor’s office called on officials and residents to “attend this event” on social media.

Afghanistan’s supreme court named the man as Mohammad Ayaz Asad and said in a statement he had been “sentenced to retaliation punishment” for shooting another man, Habibullah Saif-ul-Qatal, after his case was “examined very precisely and repeatedly”.

Ministry of Education builds 125 schools and 38 madrasas in 6 months​

KABUL (TOLOnews): The Ministry of Education has built 125 schools and over 30 madrasas across the country in the first six months of this year.

Mansoor Ahmad Hamza, spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, stated that these schools and madrasas were constructed with financial support from charitable organizations and national businessmen, amounting to over 1.224 billion Afghanis.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Education said about the construction of these schools: “At a cost of 1.224 billion and 233 thousand Afghanis, approximately 125 schools and 38 madrasas have been constructed and are now operational.”

Mansoor Ahmad Hamza added that nearly 11 million students across the country are currently engaged in education.

MOT reduces internet and domestic call rates​

KABUL (TOLOnews): The Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology has announced a reduction in internet and domestic call rates.

Najibullah Bayat Haqqani, the acting head of the ministry, stated that starting from the new calendar year, the price of one gigabyte of internet will drop to 95 Afghanis, the cost of each minute of calls to domestic networks will decrease from 3.50 Afghanis to 1.30 Afghanis, and the cost per minute of calls to foreign networks will reduce from 4 Afghanis to 1.40 Afghanis.

The acting minister explained: “In 2021, the cost per minute of on-net voice calls was 3.50 Afghanis, but this has now been reduced to 1.30 Afghanis.”

Haqqani also mentioned that the ministry’s gross domestic revenue has reached 50.5 billion Afghanis this year.

Instead of focusing on reforming afghanistan and making it a better place, they rather spend it implementing policies that serve no purpose other than making life hell for the people unlucky enough to live there.
