The afghans always blame and scapegoat Pakistan for all their ills yet they have never managed to govern their own country democratically or sort out their own internal mess.
Afghanistan is already a divided country along ethinc and secterian lines and for a peaceful and prosperous afghanistan there needs to be a reconciliation between all the different ethnic groups which has never happened.
The pashtuns in afghanistan have never seen eye to eye with hazaras, tajiks and uzbeks and vice versa. They couldn't even agree to run the country in a democratic and inclusive manner hence the political infighting.
To top it off the so called 'warlords' complicate the situation further, each ruling his respective region with ironfist and having mistrust of the other.
Afghanistan is only a country in name but political, social and tribal realities dictate it is a country of a divided people.
Ideally Pakistan should wash it's hands off afghanistan completely and just concentrate on it's own affairs.
Afghans are not a people you can reason with. The only exception being the educated afghans I met in the UK who abhor the internal situation of afghanistan and blame all the warring factions equally. Even then in the UK, you would see ethnic divisions among afghans.
