and here in CANADA, we are looonging for hot/heat after brutal winter months.........man i wish we had hot/mild temps all year round......

May be global warming will be good for you guys up Nawth! :D

How much of China suffers unbearable heat in order for people to purchase AC? Or is it just a luxury thing?
Here in the UK we just had mid 30's temps for May and there isn't much of a rush to buy them.
ACs aren't limited to cooling. Many modern units have heat pumps built in for heating. In Northern Vietnam and countries like Japan, where central heating is rare, people typically depend on their ACs and kerosene heaters in Japan in the winter.

A previous home of ours was that; a heat pump unit.

There's a reason quite a few Canadians come to AZ or FL in the winter and leave in the spring.

Not just Canada, we have a lot of people in upstate NY and New England who do that too - the snowbirds, they call them.

I never use AC for home use ! We have four distinct seasons. I Enjoy the pro & cons of each season.
summer : Fans and cooler!
winter : Heater and Blower!
Monsoon : Soak in the rain occasionally and let the cool wind take away internal negativity
Spring : nothing to complain ! Pure bliss..!

We call them snowbirds here too. Most of ours are from the Upper Midwest, Washington, and Oregon.

Interestingly, they prefer to get all their scheduled healthcare up north before heading down, particularly in Florida. I have heard some pretty bad stories about healthcare down there. Sure, the weather is nicer in the winter, but there are trade-offs IMO.

yeah, quite a few snowbirds up here, although past 1-2 yrs been rough on them as they got discouraged by DJT policies at the land borders. Although winter is harsh enough to overrule that, lol

Upside is, when the Canadians are here, I get to speak a little Canadian, eh?

When your air conditioner is running, it naturally creates a temperature split: it exhausts heat to the outside while blowing cold air inside. So the Earth is getting hotter with increasing AC use.

Tbh I'd definitely have AC if the cost of fitting it wasn't so extortionate.

In PK my cousins are diy'ing units into the walls and in the UK we have to get a gas registered engineer to install one!

Specifically talking about Florida, in the winter time the The panhandle part of the state can still get quite cold.

Only Central and especially South Florida have the better temps year-round
