If some dozens got shot, it is for the greater interests of the country. Pak dictatorship is benevolent compared to Egyptian's, etc. Also, it happened in the past, so what is new and what can AJK do about it? If they can't, then it means they accept it as fate or they want it.

Also, they are indians, such as when they say 'meray des ki janta, zinda ha'. East Pakistanis were also Indians and Hindu-inclined, as their women wore saris and bindis.

There was 15,000 by the end of the 1950's, that still goes against the narrative they started to leave after Mangla happened. Yes, it was compensation, but would you give you everything you own and loved for a ticket abroad? Pakistan was doing well then, and very few people wanted to move abroad.

10% of army is from AJK which have less population the Attock district. Forget about IoK. Even Indian muslims who make up 15% of population, only have 2% representation in all India govt departments.

Bro, it's not both ways in any sense. The refugees of Indian occupied J&K, in fact, represent the bigger part of the state, and to be honest, the real Kashmir. A gang of criminals from Mirpur have no right to blackmail the state government of Azad J&K and Pakistan for cancelling these seats.

The only way to do that is through a constitutional process. These gangsters should participate in the democratic process, get elected into the state assembly and then cancel these seats.

Did you have a chance to see these goons of the action committee talking in videos. They are criminals who cannot speak straight without an abuse for even five minutes. They have nothing to do with politics, law, and constitution. They are criminals.

The action committee gangsters want to bulldoze their demands, i.e. unconstitutional demands, though the power of gun. They deserve a similar response. In fact, that is the only language these terrorists understand.

It was indeed a blunder on part of the state government and government of Pakistan to give them years of free space without crushing them. Pakistan's Kashmir cause will get harmed even worsely if this gang of terrorists is allowed to play their evil and heinous game any longer.

In principle, yes.... change should come through elections and elected representatives in a fair democratic process.

That only works, of course, if a fair democratic process is actually allowed to exist. In reality, elections here are always managed, outcomes are shaped well before ballots matter, and (supposedly) elected governments operate with a ceiling clearly marked by unelected power structures...

And when that system doesn’t deliver, what exactly is the "approved" alternative? People protest. Then they’re labelled as traitors, extremists, or worse. .. And if they persist, brute force tends to arrive with impressive speed and minimal accountability...

So yes, a neat democratic theory on paper. Just missing the small detail of democracy itself.

Unless, of course, the expectation is that everyone should simply bow gracefully and assume the people above politics are beyond question..... practically divine, just with uniforms instead of halos...!!

AJK Police say 3 JAAC members killed in Rawalakot clashes, several injured​

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Police on Monday said that three individuals linked to the newly proscribed Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) were killed during the protests on Sunday, with additional injuries reported, according to a press release by the AJK police.

The statement follows deadly clashes in AJK's Rawalakot, where the JAAC had been holding a sit-in outside CMH Rawalakot hospital. AJK police allege that armed JAAC members opened fire on deployed law enforcement in a planned attack, leaving four personnel dead and around 20 injured. JAAC, however, disputes this account, claiming security forces used tear gas and fired shells toward the hospital.

According to the statement, law and order had been restored in Rawalakot after what it described as violent and armed actions by elements linked to JAAC.
