AMCA News and Discussion

I'm not seeing an EOTS, is that just missing from the mockup? or have the Indians decided to skip that feature.

No, it's already being developed for AMCA.

Lab Instruments Research & Development Establishment (IRDE) is developing an Electro-Optical Targeting System (EOTS) for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA).

I didn't see it in the mockup under the Chin.

Once again - MATH is MATH

It’s equations -
The other way equations work is to make a perfect circle fly
Maybe someone does that

Yes I know that, it was a bit of humor. Although I'm curious as to how math explains the uniqueness in design for the J-20, J-36, J-50?

it would be interesting and discussion worthy if the confirmation of India going for either su-57 or f35 comes out during the airshow.

Because few in the subcontinent have that skillset -

I would not worry about that rather where they are in the stage and where they need to go.
Now - let me expand.
@That_Guy @Raj-Hindustani @Joe Shearer

If they were smarter - they would have tapped TATA and other manufacturers that do clay modeling and mockups to ask who they use and THEN put this together.

Certainly makes sense, better sense than deputing some junior person with no godfathers in the organisation to 'volunteer' to build these.

Generally that is how these things are done in the government/public sector.

The front looks like F35 and rear looks like a Russian MIG or Sukhoi inspired design. Is this the final design?

For me, it is likely the one, but some Indian members dont agree. The design is also put on the OEM official twitter account.

Changing plane design is not so simple as fanboys think. It needs years of wind tunnel testing for the design to be confirmed. Just like KF21 dont have meaningful design change, just the plane get a bit bigger from the design completed in December 2012.

USA can make major design change when they develop F22, but USA is already in another leageu. China also make major design change for J35, but it took one decade to do so.
