American man reveals Indian CEO took over a firm, booted out founders, hired Indians. Post goes viral amid H1B visa debate

To be honest it is just short term greed and Indian graduates being unwilling to work what they consider jobs that are beneath them.

West is no longer the land of milk and honey and only the very few make riches anymore. Most of these Indian graduates would just make enough to survive.

But isn't that the case of homegrown graduates in places like the uk? The uk living standard has gone down massively since 2008.

Well according to online indians, india is the best economy in the world with the best standard of living. Why do they need the white european and anglo-saxon world to absorb 10s of millions of indian graduates? Why do indians need to leave india when it is such a wonderful place?

The West employs a few hundred thousand Indians, but these individuals have been instrumental in building a tech sector in India that directly employs around 7 million people. Think of them as enablers, strategically positioned to channel opportunities and millions of jobs back to India, strengthening the country’s global tech footprint.

Yes and Indian imports will be no different.

It used to be very lucrative back in the 2010s but that is no longer the case. Hirings are down and wages are not as good as they used to be.

Indians should try to make the best in the country they were born, educated and grew up in.

Interesting take! They can remove the diversity lottery (a good move) and they can lower or remove chain migration family visas which are useless for USA anyways. Further prioritize H1B by salary offered instead of a lottery, again a great solution.

Keep the over all visas same but remove all the useless ones.

Removing “chain migration” would face a huge backlash from existing citizens and voters. Even whites! Think of Trump’s mail order brides sponsoring their parents and siblings. Latinos!

Even Indians will be against it!

Diversity visa is a soft power tool for USA. Carrot to keep different countries onside.

Whites aren’t going to put all their eggs in the Indian basket!

This whole episode has shown that when genuinely under threat or face being supplanted, white europeans will close ranks NO MATTER what and switch very easily against ANY non-white group. It's obvious indians have been taken by surprise and are utterly shocked by the white racists turning against them so rabidly. indians were not expecting this. Being Islamaphobic will NEVER endear the indians to the white race let alone make them a part of the white european race.

Sure it will. By opening offices in India.

They don't need Indians in the tech sector as they do jobs that Americans can do.

Off-shoring was a 2010s thing and so you need to move with the times as what could be done has been done.

Trump election was all about bringing "US jobs" home.

I don’t think Indians are surprised at all. Immigration has always been a contentious topic in the West, but every backlash historically only seems to result in more jobs being created in India.

A friend of mine in the tech sector mentioned that earlier, they used to pitch projects to Western clients at western offices abroad. Now, those same clients are pitched to at their Indian offices to their Indian staff. Essentially, even the process of outsourcing itself has been outsourced to India. It’s a clear sign of how deeply integrated and indispensable Indian tech sector has become in the global economy

I would not be surprised if those 750,000 Indian "students" will not be allowed to stay in this country after their "studies" are over.

The Labour Party will be feeling the heat from Reform and will not want to get decimated at the next election like The Tories were in the last one.

@UKBengali

UKB Dada,

Off-shoring was a 2010s thing and so you need to move with the times as what could be done has been done.

If offshoring was a 2010 thingy why is the Indian IT industry exports still growing at double digits? Why are GCCs expected to double in India over the next 5 years? What are we missing?

Regards

They don't need Indians, but using Indians gets the job done in the most cost effective manner. Which maximizes profits. Which is what CEOs are after. Their job is to maximize profits, not create jobs for Americans. Manpower cost is the biggest cost in an IT company. Saving manpower cost is the biggest cost saving.

It’s not just about tech jobs anymore. Many Western MNCs now run offices in India that handle critical business processes, including purchase decisions and price negotiations for their global operations. It’s a shift from outsourcing just tech work to entrusting entire business functions to Indian teams.

I recently heard of a company in Bangalore that does books and tax accounting work for doctors and dentists in the UK.. these kinds of job shift are generally not visible
