I just turned off my laptop after 14 hours on this forum. I would prefer to simplify it by keeping UK flag but you can request @Waz and @Amaa’n and their support will get you the flag tomorrow.

There should not be any privacy concern for users.

1) Nobody on old PDF was interested in your IP addresses

2) despite that. The new management ensured the IP is only accessible by the Admin team.

3) We are asking about your country of origin and residence, not your home address or city name. Canada/Australia/Russia for example are large countries and nobody will try to find you based on your country location mentioned on PDF

In this campaign, we are not asking you to reveal your IP address but just the correct flags of the country

Most people use VPN nowadays. While that feature exists, I have removed the privilege for Members. It’s a worthless feature to be honest, the manual flag selection is more reliable and moderators will enforce correct flags from time to time

It was a useful feature.

Even if someone uses a VPN, it's a reason to suspect.

The previous forum showed three flags, the two chosen flags, and the flag based in the ip address overlayed in the avatar.

Thanks for this. The flags can only be seen on the desktop version of the site and not the mobile version. Can the flags be made visible on the mobile version as well?

This is an interesting concept.

At which generation removed would one stop being of Indian or Pakistani origin.

Never, if you go by what we say about Indian origin people in the Caribbean (or even Africa) who have been there for generations.

Just a side thought pricked by your post.

An unhappy consequence of your doing this 2 flag thing is that now for phone users like me the flag icon under the guys photo besides each message has gone missing

This is in portrait view (holding the phone normally).

In landscape view yes both flags get seen. But who browses forums like that.

I really liked (needed) that. Especially for new members you do not know well yet.

Yes! I seen flags of Japan or Netherland or America against me from the way VPN decided to link to.

I tried to put in the flag.

China for where my parents came from which is China and where my kind came from. (Do you consider yourself a Pakistani? If you were born in the UK but your parents are from Pakistan. Change the country of origin to Pakistan)
I tried to put in Taiwan next as residence there is where my heart and soul reside in. But Taiwan not in the list of countries in your system.

I cannot put in Stinkapore as that a place where the politicians bled us mercilessly so that they and their niece and nephews and cronies can go laughing on way to their banks.

In my travels when folks speak of where they came from with pride as they identified with that country. I never will lie. I told them I hold the passport of Singapore. I just cannot say I am a Singaporean as how to have pride when we bled like bears in Vietname milked for bile.
