Army Chief tenure to reset with CDF appointment

When taken out of the prison, he won't ride some tank to the India border: He will ride a tanker to Islamabad in unending 'long marches' and if you look at his history since 2014, that's all he does best--along with fooling people with 'American toppled me' BS.
He has not done anything like that, but NS and co has done it.
This image of monster was created to protect and serve the kinds of NS, Zardari and corrupt Generals.

My issue is with any one wanting to "maintain the office, and perks for life", and with anyone wanting "permanent immunity", and with someone bending the constitution so that they cannot be "fired", or that the law should not apply them. That, they are more important than the country, the law and the people of the country, that they are so enamoured with the stench of their own ego and self perception of their own self worth..

I could list all the ills and implications of the constitutional amendments, but I wont.

I agree with you on this but this part only applies to FM and should be separated from the idea of CDF (as it doesn't apply to CDF)

The fact that the CDF "must" always come from the Army, is illogical to me, and that has nothing to do with the current COAS itself. If you wanted a permanent source, should it not be the air force ? The world we live in right now, is governed by airpower, and it seems that will be the case for some time.

I am open to the idea of CDF being a rotation b/w all 3 service branches, however, have you ever wondered why COMISAF was always from Army?

If he does what NS and others have done then its his political death.

Why the Powers wants him to go out of the country, why not allow him to sit in the assembly with the agreement of no compromise on National Security Afghan etc. in any case he will be in opposition without any power and enough seats to derail their agenda.

Its no way give and take, current powers only want to take and not give.

IK had one slogan Insaaf, and now we have seen what happened to our courts and constitution. Different Law for Powerful, we saw amendments where NS clan legalized corruption uptilt a certain limits to clear themselves,

so a retired GENERAL made COAS by this Govt is working on Give and take principal. FM and immunity for life ....

We all know the whole drama, so lets not pretend that any of the current leadership reach here on merit and through proper channel. All of them got together just to save their back sides.
What "retired" general?

BTW, all of what you complain about, Nawaz Sharif and his supporters said the same when they were dealt this hand in 2017 and prior after the 1999 coupe.

"We all know the whole drama, so lets not pretend that any of the current leadership reach here on merit and through proper channel. All of them got together just to save their back sides."

Fair, welcome to Pakistan's 70+ year history!

FM Sab was scheduled to retire on 27 November 2022 and he was made COAS on 29 November 2022.

Yaar, you know that this was a nonsensical clerical issue. The delay in the government's notification resulted in this "2 day" lapse. Gen Asim never retired from service.

A parallel example: The current US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen Caine, was actually brought back from the retirement to lead the entire US military. He retired as a 3 star general in 2024 and then the US government (Trump) appointed him as 4 start Chairman in 2025.

Yes and US Gen gave orders to shoot civilian protestors and became FM with immunity, and he was brough back because he had beef with outgoing President.

We can paint it fancy how we want it, but our FM actions are loud and clear.

lets leave it, I generally do not like to get involved in these stupid discussions,

If FM Asim Muneer carried on the covert manipulation, like how all previous Generals have done, I would not say a single bad word against him, but his open actions have spoiled the imagine and great respect we had for our Army. He turned Pakistani Awam into anti Army, just to please his ego and NS and Zardari Clan.

No matter what people say, but I personally always liked my Military over any Politician, even Marshal Law, but how FM sab has behaved, I can not turn and twist in any way to like it.

So what you're saying is that it is not the violation of Ethics by FM that's a problem but the violation of your internally expected method used for the Ethical violation that's the problem for you? 👀

Does the FM have any ideas like previous thinkers for e.g. Gen Aslam Baig or is it all about grabbing power?

call me a conspiracy theorist on this one but it seems the power/control of entire country is officially now being handed over to the FM.......is this being done on behest of int'l powers who want to bring in the new world order.......see the measures how they all want to eliminate cash with CBDC, and other rights finished and increasingly giving NADRA too much control without oversight or accountability......
everything seems to resonate with whats also going on in other countries, even canada seems to head in same direction, and many other countries. We all know Pak estb/military/exec/judiciary and even our people are always too much ready to lick anything foreign.
Its so disgusting in reality this cuckly cowardly and defeatist behaviour full of inferiority complexes of our ruling kanjar "turds".

Well, as per law, he only has power/control over Armed Forces but if you think that is all the power/control to be had in Pakistan than isn't it better with this new setup? At least, now you're not being lied to 🥲

Please dont get high on intellectualism on me. Thanks

Tell me, Is/was any way to avoid interferences since independence??? was there any true political Govt in Pakistan etc etc....

Reactions: hnn

As much as the PTI crowd try to paint their collective nemesis as a "power-hungry, illogical, backward jernail" they do a disservice to themselves and their case because it isn't like the FM's feelings are getting hurt. He is hurtling down his path.

I think ppl should realize that he does not need to become a CDF to wield the ultimate power in Pakistan, the post of CoAS easily allows that.

The issue is that he is going to be the CDF while Pakistan has an on/off again conflagration with India, while the relations are being balanced with China/US, with an unprecedented defense pact being rolled out with KSA, while tackling Taliban violence. All of these have had the FM's involvement and some level of orchestration. So I could say yes, like Aslam Beg, there are quite a few things that have the Asim Munir thinking at play.

Lol I haven't even begun yet, I have merely pointed out the contradiction in your thought, and if it hit a nerve with you then may be your thought requires more prudence?

Tell me, Is/was any way to avoid interferences since independence??? was there any true political Govt in Pakistan etc etc....

Anyhow, if the argument is that there was NO way to avoid interfere then how does the interference occurs shouldn't be a concern. In simpler terms, a sin is a sin whether committed openly or in private.

1. You are correct, nothing makes any difference for him, He is a man on a mission.

2. Correct again, hence the question, Why FM, then CDF and immunity for live. No COAS ever tried to amend the constitution for his personal immunity.

2. If we depending on a single person to achieve all the goals, then our institutions have failed, stopped producing Leaders, commanders, tacticians and fighters, So its not a time or matter to glorify and feel proud.....and rest you know better then me....whos responsibility is to create successors....
