Attack on Jaffer Express

Yes. We can. And yes we should .

After all, it's not the traffic police that's governing Pakistan since independence and especially Balochistan.
Fair criticism, but then what is the solution, again I hate to repeat myself but without national consensus on the subject we find ourselves at an impasse do we not?

The grievances have been ongoing since 1948, with continuous agitation since then. No amount of appeasement will work on Neanderthals; those who wanted to integrate and accept the idea of Pakistan have already done so. The same applies to those in KPK, and the issue of Balochistan is no longer merely one of grievance. With CPEC and trade, things were set to change, but now there is too much foreign involvement. Grievances cannot be resolved without bringing in people from other provinces who can contribute skills. One of the main reasons it remains underdeveloped is the exodus of the workforce due to ethnic killings. There’s nothing the government can do if people are openly racist—go watch the latest Waj Bros vlog, where a Balochi himself says that outsider Punjabis and Sindhis are called settlers. If that’s the mindset, good luck—no amount of development will improve anything. We should, on the other hand, put Balochis in trucks and send them to Balochistan from other provinces.

Disband the Pakistan army military junta and hold all it's vermins involved in extra judicial killings and kidnappings, from Bajaur to Gwadar accountable. That's the start of a solution. Everything else will fall in it's place with time.

Sadly that will never happen in our lifetime.

It seems the BLA executed 50 hostages I. The last hour of the operation before all the BLA were killed

The aim of this harami act by the BLA was to negotiate the release of Baloch separatists in jail

In response every single one of those separatists held in jail should be executed

This behave by these people and the Afghans is beyond contempt, you CANNOT negotiate with such people or their supporters
You cannot act weak Infront of them or be merciful
You can't rehabilitate those who murder labourers and teachers and polio workers

If a war is waged against Pakistan, then Pakistan must wage a war against our enemies

For too long the state has been too easy on afghans and others haramis, it's essential the states response is ruthless

Good post, frankly political leanings aside, what I am examining is the way forward at a national level.

‘They are not ready to talk’: Bugti

In an address to the Balochistan Assembly, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti talked about the train attack and separatism in the province, lamenting that there was nobody to advocate for the victims.

“Why don’t they (separatists and their advocates) talk about the realities?” Bugti asked. “Parliament has given them rights. The problem is that there’s nobody to talk about victims of violence and terrorism.

“If the BLA is running a jirga, will we take part?” he asked the provincial assembly. “They want to impose their ideology with a gun and violence. Should we allow them to take people off buses and kill them?

The CM further emphasised that the train was carrying soldiers headed home while on leave; thus, they were unarmed. “There are rules in war, and there are laws,” Bugti added. “What will history say, that innocent teachers, barbers, and doctors were murdered?”

Bugti continued: “Whoever commits acts of violence against the state, whoever tries to partake in it, whoever takes up arms, the state will punish them unequivocally.”

“By attacking soft targets, they have created this environment,” he said. “If they want to fight, we have cantonments and other hard targets. But they attack passengers on buses and target them on ethnic grounds.”

Referring to dialogue, the chief minister said that nobody is heading efforts to establish talks with separatist groups because “they are not ready” to sit at the table.

“There are two kinds of people: murderers with guns and those who advocate for them and glorify them on TV and social media,” Bugti stressed. “No country allows this except for ours. They talk about breaking apart our state and call it solidarity.”

Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that all 33 terrorists were killed during the Jaffar Express rescue operation in Balochistan's Bolan district.

He revealed that 21 civilians had already been martyred before the operation began. The rescue mission concluded with the safe recovery of all passengers, though four FC personnel also embraced martyrdom.

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated that the final clearance operation was carried out with extreme caution and professionalism, ensuring no harm came to the hostages. The terrorists had divided the passengers into three groups, and the rescue was executed step by step.

The operation involved personnel from the Pakistan Army, Air Force, FC, and SSG.

The ISPR DG clarified that the terrorists responsible for the Jaffar Express attack had no connection to Islam or Balochistan.

He disclosed that the terrorists used passengers as human shields and targeted innocent people with the support and facilitation of foreign handlers.

He described the attack site as remote and difficult to access. Despite these challenges, security forces successfully rescued women and children. The attack commenced on March 11 at 1pm when terrorists targeted the railway track and took passengers hostage.

The ISPR DG also pointed out that as soon as the incident occurred, Indian media broadcasted old videos, exposing the link between terrorists and their supporters.

He criticised certain political elements in Pakistan for spreading baseless propaganda, accusing some individuals of sacrificing national interests in their pursuit of power. However, he stressed that the people of Pakistan are aware of these tactics and are closely observing the situation.

He concluded by acknowledging the ongoing sacrifices of security personnel, emphasizing that soldiers continue to embrace martyrdom daily in the line of duty.

Terrorists blew up railway track and stopped the passenger train en route to Peshawar from Balochistan capital Quetta on Tuesday. They took more than 440 passengers hostage.

They have been battling security forces, who conducted a rescue operation after the attack.

According to security sources, heavy firing has been continuing between forces and terrorists. The terrorists have been surrounded and the operation will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated, they quoted security officers as having said.

Reuters quoted a senior police officer as saying that the terrorists have claimed they are holding 214 people. "The affected train is still on the spot and the armed men are holding up passengers," he added.

"Security forces launched a massive operation," he said, adding that helicopters and special forces had been deployed.

The train was trapped in a tunnel and the driver was killed after suffering serious injuries, local authorities, police and railway officials said.

The Baloch Liberation Army, a separatist militant group, said it blew up the track and "swiftly took control of the train".

The BLA has demanded the release within 48 hours of Baloch political prisoners, activists and missing persons it said had been abducted by the military.

"BLA is prepared for a prisoner exchange," the group said.

THE OPERATION

Due to the presence of civilians, security forces are proceeding with extreme caution. Additionally, the rugged terrain of the area has further complicated the operation.

According to security officials, the assailants bombed the railway track before boarding the train and opened fire on the locomotive.

According to sources, the train departed Quetta at 9:30am and came under attack while passing through Pehro Kunri area in Bolan region.

Security forces cordoned off the area, which falls within the mountainous terrain near Machh. Mobile services in the area are unavailable.

EMERGENCY DECLARED

Emergency was declared at Sibi Hospital, and ambulances were dispatched to the scene soon after the incident.

The provincial government ordered emergency measures after the tragic incident.

“There are reports of intense firing at a Jaffar Express [train], which was heading from Quetta to Peshawar, between Pehro Kunri and Gadalar,” Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind said in a statement.

Meanwhile, an emergency was also declared at Quetta's Civil Hospital.

GOVT PLEDGES TO FIGHT TOOTH AND NAIL

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the terrorist attack on Jaffar Express in Dhadar area of Bolan Pass.

In their separate statements, they lauded the security forces for their bravery and professionalism demonstrated in the operation against terrorists.

Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi stays in contact with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti after the horrific attack on the Peshawar-bound Jaffar Express.

Naqvi expressed sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the incident and assured the Balochistan chief minister of full support by the federal government. Both leaders lauded the security forces for their timely action.

Naqvi heaped praises on Bugti by saying that the Balochistan CM was a brave man.

TRAIN OPERATION SUSPENDED

Pakistan Railways administration, meanwhile, announced change in schedule of trains in the aftermath of terrorist attack on Jaffar Express in Balochinstan.

According to an announcement, all operations from Quetta railway station have temporarily been suspended. The service of Bolan Mail between Karachi and Quetta has been cancelled.

The train service will resume after repair of rail track, it said.

Security in trains and on railway stations across the country has been increased, the railway announced.

HELP DESK

The administration also announced setting up help desks at Quetta, Rawalpindi and Lahore railway stations.

Pakistan Railways spokesperson said the officials at help desk will give information about the passengers of the Jaffar Express.

The Rawalpindi desk is in constant contact with Quetta and Peshawar. Moreover, people can contact phone numbers 0819201210 and 0819201211 and Pakistan Railway inquiry number 117 for any information, the spokesperson concluded.

At least 57 passengers who were taken hostage by the terrorists in attack on Jaffar Express in Bolan and were rescued during security forces operation have reached Quetta on late Tuesday night.

Correct - it’s the local Baloch tribes who govern 90% of Balochistan as a ‘B’ area.

No need to spread Nida Kirmani’s woke rubbish justifying the slaughter of people on basis of their ethnicity here.
