Attack on Jaffer Express

And pray tell where are they getting this information given that the Provincial Gov has yet to release an update. Please don't share misinformation.
BBC also reported the same, quoting Quetta trailway officials

"Railway officials in Quetta, quoting paramilitary sources, told the BBC that women and children had disembarked from the train and were walking towards the city of Sibi. They did not have an exact number."

Not just middle class, I actually have met random doctors, engineers and other highly educated Baloch men and women who have genuine complaints against the state and alot of them if are sympathetic to insurgents if not supporting them.

This incident should be the last straw, like APS after which the entire state and society mobilised.

In 2013, we had a chance to provide these people with a pathway to vent their frustration within the frame work of the Pakistani constitution. Dr Maalik was the CM (not a hardcore nationalist) and we could have built on that.

No one here will talk about how the military has completely closed that avenue with this BAP rubbish. A party forned exclusively to have total control in Balochistan and keep as a black mailing tool in Islamabad.

Anyways sh!t has hit the fan now. The rebels now believe in Victory. That belief needs to change on the ground before we can talk about long term political or socio-economic steps.

The militants are the ones who terrorise development activities from the state.

What state? No state writ exists in Balochistan nor it ever has. Why are people surprised BLA and other insurgents exist and have support? State never did its role, has been absent and that miscreants utilise that vacuum left for their own use.

Situation is such in Balochistan that you'll need an entire generation to pass before it starts to get better.

Armed militants in Pakistan's Balochistan region have attacked a train carrying hundreds of passengers and taken a number of hostages, military sources have told the BBC.

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) fired at the Jaffar Express Train as it travelled from Quetta to Peshawar.

A statement from the separatist group said it had bombed the track before storming the train in remote Sibi district. It claimed the train was under its control.

Pakistani police told local reporters at least three people, including the train driver, had been injured. Security forces have been sent to the scene, as well as helicopters to try to rescue hostages, police told the BBC.

There were reports of "intense firing" at the train, a Balochistan government spokesman told local newspaper Dawn. A senior police official said it "remains stuck just before a tunnel surrounded by mountains", AFP news agency reports.

The Baloch Liberation Army has warned of "severe consequences" if an attempt is made to rescue those it is holding.

It has waged a decades-long insurgency to gain independence and has launched numerous deadly attacks, often targeting police stations, railway lines and highways. The Pakistani authorities - as well as several Western countries, including the UK and US - have designated the BLA as a terrorist organisation.

Map shows location of attack in Pakistan on map with neighbouring Afghanistan and India

Quetta's railway controller Muhammad Kashif told the BBC that 400-450 passengers had been booked on the train. Officials have not confirmed how many they think have been taken hostage.

The provocations is ridiculous here my brother.. I knew before entering this thread that the comments would be displeased that it is BLA and hoped it was TTP so they can shout Kabul is evil yada yada. Even if a bird dies Kabul is somehow behind it.

Kabul has no dog in the fight whatsoever in whatever is going on in Pakistan this has been proven time and time again..

Even the narrative that they are hostile is literally being forced on Afghanistan.

All the news regarding Afg-Pak is 97% fake outside of news released official by ISPQ and Kabul spokesperson other then that everything else is just fake news and I wonder why.

Some indian Elements seek desparately to start a mutually destructive war between Afg-Pak nobody losses there except both brotherly ppl and India wins.
Kandahar is the enemy not Kabul

Hang the Afghan supporting mullahs in Pakistan upside down. There cannot be any appeasement for mullahs that want things to move along when Pakistan is being targeted on a daily basis. Anyone found cajoling Afghan bhai bhai BS needs to be imprisoned.

Use drones on a 24/7 basis. Fly in with jets and pound the crap put of TTP/BLA hideouts. Anything less will be giving into terrorism.

Either Pakistan chooses itself or it chooses to live with terrorism on a daily basis.
Sounds good but even bombing Afghanistan for 1 month continuesly will not sort this mess out, killing people will lead to more propaganda and anti Pakistan insurgency, eventually it will become large scale insurgency from low scale. This is why some oppose attacking Afghanistan or even bombing villages in Balochistan and KPK, or allowing usa drone attacks. Pakistan must allow free and fair elections, allow a people government to come to power, negotiate with these rebels, sort out their grievances, then go after the trouble makers. The Balochistan rebellion is not mullah rebellion but secular one, like the clean shaven people ruling us.

The state is fine as long as this is kept to the backwards areas,

You can't change these areas, why they hell would anyone invest there?

They tried CPEC their and all their was is the usual fassad,

You need to make a ring where on the peripheries where their is development, like Gwader, coastal road, Quetta etc and then leave the rest of junglees in the middle to live like how they want and keep the pressure on them

That's what's happening and the junglees are frustrated that no one was taking notice of them

So they support insurgents who will probably get annexd by Iran even if they are freed rather then their country that atleast prevents external domination?

You never negotiate with terrorists

I meant that any sort of attempt to actually help Balochistan is terrorised by these militants , like educators for example who come from the Punjab

So if these middle class folk's are complaining why are they not directing it at the people who make it a lawless forsaken place
