Trust. IK is a trusted person because he is seen as simple (sometimes dumb) but honest. Also he doesn’t seem like he cares about his wealth either, so that is a plus.
Let me elaborate. People know the standard politicians just say things to delay any real action. No lasting solutions, or at least it is felt that way. The generals also seem like they want to maintain the status quo and have a stake in commercial enterprises.
There are Baluch leaders, rebels or rebel adjacent that said of the Pakistani politicians, they would trust Khan to bring about some change. Khan, regardless of how dumb the strategy was implemented wanted to deal with the TTP in a reconciliation manner, which didn’t work, but you can understand that he was trying to defuse the situation, but he didn’t understand these smuggler militants survive on their crimes.
Having said this, and seeing that PTI was re-elected in KPK despite the heavy rigging against them, an unheard of feat in KPK history if I’m not mistaken, means that Khan can pull the population away from the militants and allow the military to go after the militants with public support; carrot and stick approach.
On the issue of the Hazara, IK didn’t appear to grasp the situation or at least he failed in his empathy. This is why, PTI, along with continuing their political struggle within the legal system, need to formulate how to respond to all their issues brought up during IK’s tenure, to not make those mistakes again.
People want change. The status quo suits an ever smaller percentage of the population and the draconian atmosphere is wrecking the vibrancy of the country in the other two other (eastern) provinces.
People aren’t saying IK has the solutions, but they trust he will push for change. That is why they trust him; that is why they support him. This is why I have proposed that he would be better as a President, and he should elevate his deputy to be his PM, to deal with foreigners and give speeches, while the key people will be the finance ministry and a revamped interior ministry to work on national development and increasing exports to fund local needs.
Baluchistan should be prioritized for national development (including employment), to at least bring it up to the standard of most of the country, despite the vast distances, so Baluchi people feel a stake in the state, and Pakistan can also utilize the province for projects without having to spend so much on local security.
Being from a marginalized part of society, African Americans, Martin Luther King once said “People who have a stake in their society, protect that society, but when they don’t have it, they unconsciously want to destroy it.”

This whole thing reminds me of APS, we got a little more lucky this time that the militants didn’t simply murder everyone on sight.
Can we hope to see some large scale and well documented kinetic action against these people? Seeing the dead militants is nice, but I think the response should be much larger.

One easy thing that could be done is off duty soldiers and police can carry a permit to have a concealed sidearm with them at all times.
Instead of sifting through the population without a way of detecting the militants easily or quickly, and thereby furthering alienation, arming security personnel with concealed weapons can help them engage confirmed miscreants when the miscreants make themselves known.
Btw, look at the hit and run tactics of the BLA militants, the security services should focus on defensive infrastructure and training a lot more.
FC troops need to have enough ammo to be able to hold off attackers long enough until at least QRF can arrive. The guards on the train kept the fire fight going for an hour and a half. That should have been enough time for the QRF to arrive.
Let the miscreants come to the military and then be detected and engaged until neutralized. Once neutralized, follow up with intel picked up from the bodies; gear, papers, etc.
Going on the offensive should be reserved for intelligence based ops, not sifting through and alienating the population further.
Also, MRAP buses need to be available for members of not just the security services but civilians as well, especially those working on development projects, to give an assurance of safety.
Another important thing to watch is how local civilians act before an attack. Civilians could be warned before an attack to leave an area or shelter in place, so it’s important to watch what is going on in areas near FC posts or along roads.
Drones with AI can be used to fly over roads daily and watch for changes in the roads to detect any changes which could indicate the placement of IEDs or cars that are by the roadside and sagging under heavy weight, indicating possibly VBIED.
QRF Drone bases should be spread throughout the region to allow for FC troops to call in cover and give the militants a precision response ASAP, to force them to break contact. Sometimes even a few laser guided rockets can be enough to drive away militants, or at the very least a drone can relay info on the militants such that the heavier main QRF force can move into a better position to knock out most or all of the attacking force.
As much as possible, FC posts should be in areas where they are covered by nearby fire bases, so that cheaper mortar or artillery fire can be used to respond to large unit militant attacks.
Finally, FC posts should have comms superiority, ability to use comms, no matter their location, while being to jam and/or detect and localize and intercept enemy comms. Not only can they use this to find the militants, but also give the intel guys the means to figure out definitively who, specifically, is backing the attacks (and use that info to go after the specific people behind the attack at a date and place of their choosing).

Which unmatchable strong points IK had to became PM? The only strong point he had was the unconstitutional support from some generals who blindly hated NS and wanted a dumb puppet in power. A filthy idiot was installed in Pakistan by military by naked interference and shameful manipulation of 2018 elections. Still, they could not get him even the simple majority in NA. How the other parties were blackmailed and forced to support IK to become the PM is not a secret anymore.
Even after installation of a brainless idiot as the PM, the military had to manage the required numbers at every voting in NA through infamously notorious col. Liaqat. The military had to jump into the damage control process many times after this goof made mess during his foreign trips.
Domestically, we don’t see any initiative or project of national importance launched or completed during his time as the PM. On the contrary, a lot of true stories of his filthy character were making rounds during his time as PM and even after he was kicked out of power. All that cannot be overlooked as character assassination. There is no character of this filthy moron that can be assassinated.

ISLAMABAD: The military on Friday vowed to take decisive action against terrorists operating in Balochistan — along with their abettors and facilitators, both inside and outside the country — following the hijacking of the Jaffar Express.
In a press conference alongside Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) chief Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry declared, “We will take them on, their facilitators, and abettors whether inside Pakistan or outside”.
“They will be dealt with sternly and in the way those killing innocent people deserve to be treated,” Lt Gen Sharif said, explaining a statement he made the other day when he posited that the “rules of engagement” have changed after this latest attack.

Lt Gen Sharif linked the attack to Afghanistan, stating that the hijackers were in constant communication with their handlers across the border. While the operation was underway, Indian media ran an information warfare campaign aimed at glorifying the terrorists, he claimed.
“We must understand that in this terrorist incident in Balochistan, and others before, the main sponsor is your eastern neighbour,” he said.
He recalled Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts since 2014, highlighting the formation of the National Action Plan (NAP) as a crucial step in combating terrorism.
“All political parties and stakeholders sat together and developed this consensus, which became the foundation of the National Action Plan. The previous government further reviewed and revised it, resulting in a renewed commitment to counter-terrorism,” he stated.
The revised NAP includes 14 critical points addressing the root causes and mechanisms of terrorism most of which have now been included in the Azm-i-Istehkam vision that is being currently followed. “If we focus on implementing these 14 points in letter and spirit, I believe terrorism can be eradicated,” he said.
The ISPR chief detailed the ongoing counterterrorism operations, revealing that in 2024 alone, security forces conducted 59,775 intelligence-based operations both major and minor.
