The foreign enemies of Pakistan KNOW FULL well that they CANNOT militarily take on Pakistan anymore so they are using covert means to attack the Pakistani state in trying to destabilize it and make it ripe for enemy foreign nations to attack and genocide Pakistan. So they fund and maintain the terrorists in Balochistan, KPK and now the JAACP. Funny hw the JAACP was dormant for decades and said NOTHING of the atrocities committed by the indian army in indian administered Kashmir. I wonder why?............

You claim that foreign powers are responsible for funding insurgencies. They certainly exploit them, but ask yourself why these insurgencies exist in the first place.

Baluchistan has been in conflict for over 50 years. 50 years of military operations have not resolved it why? KPK has seen recurring insurgencies since 2000s, and now AJK is heading in the same direction.

There are enough Kashmiri jihadis whom this same military betrayed after its backdoor dealings with India. Remember the assassination spree against Kashmiri mujahideen spearheaded by the same military. Many of these groups went underground and are just waiting for an opportunity.

Yes, outsiders fund such movements, but they are able to do so because your precious army has created an environment of injustice that breeds resentment against the Pakistani state while plundering its resources. Foreign actors exploit grievances, they do not create them out of thin air. You cannot trample public opinion by blatant rigging, slaughter civilians when they don't agree with you, and expect compliance. It's not in human nature.

Again, the avalanche of public opinion and hatred towards this parasite institution has already begun and will soon reach a point where it can no longer be stopped. You guys can hide behind the perceived invincibility of the institution and brute force for now. But this house of cards will eventually crumble under its own weight soon enough I just hope Pakistan services with its borders intact.

The conundrum is that "if" Pakistani Army were to create a powerful "middle-class", most of the created "class" will want accountability, equal rights, equal opportunity etc. - how will Pak Army who places ex-Generals on top civilian positions do so if middle class rises. Same goes for DHA, hundred other areas which PA exploits today.

This is an existential question that Pakistani citizens need to answer/solve. It is simplistic to say most countries have armies, in Pakistan an army has a country but frankly, it is not very far from the truth. I would replace army with establishment perhaps.

Still, the big question remains, do Pakistan citizens want to be a security state - constantly having hostile relations with its neighbor or do they want to throw out this regime (establishment or army raj). Even bigger question (and $T dollar for Pakistan) - how do they do it.

Exactly. We need educated patriotic Pakistanis, people who will become the seed of a change, development, strong Pakistan, they will work with the institutions to tackle social problems. The army job is to guard the borders, not fight own citizens which leads to hatred and division. Pakistan biggest issue is lack of education, people are more attached to religous extremism, foreign ideologies, ethnic separatism than Pakistan history and ideology, the people have no clue on who is Allama Iqbal, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, why Pakistan was created etc. Pakistan rulers must also ban all foreign literature and ideologies.

Coming to the second part, yes, your solutions work, but only in an ideal world when the institution has self accountability, which it doesn't, even though it pretends it does.

The Army Chief now effectively has absolute power with the CDF post. You no longer have a CJCSC, as before, who could counter the opinion of the Army Chief, just as Zubair Hayat countered Bajwa's policy of restraint after the Balakot strikes. The Army Chief, by holding the CDF post as well, now controls both positions, going against the reforms made after 1971. As things stand, high ranking generals lobby politicians to become Army Chiefs because of the absolute power that position grants them.

Why is real estate so inflated and largely untaxed when it makes up a huge proportion of the country's assets, where black money is held? Why are military enterprises exempt from corporate taxes? Because the army has a stake in them and profits from these policies. Why do you see ex generals in civilian positions.

Why do they receive subsidized housing, free education, healthcare, subsidized food, and generous pensions, while even the country's best professionals struggle? It is because they have created a system that primarily serves them.

Coming to the Pakistani middle class, it is what the army fear the most: educated Pakistanis who are not merely surviving but have the resources to contest elections and win. The army would not be able to control them as it has controlled the traditional politicians. It is the middle class they are truly afraid of, and they will not give power to them willingly because then they would be answerable to them and would have to face restrictions on their power and accountability for their actions. Lastly, they do not care about Pakistan because they will leave the country as soon as they retire, just look at the number of retired army men settling in west after retiring.

And as long as military generals remain in charge of military industrial complex, those companies will continue to underperform because they neither have the skills nor the imagination to run them efficiently.
