Azerbaijan Air Force Becomes Fourth Operator of JF-17 Fighter Aircraft, President Aliyev Confirms

Sir jee this news instead of making me happy makes me angry.
As the more orders PAC gets the further back it pushes the PAF order.....specially when u consider the fact that we r in a war right now with a brief pause, facing a extatential threat.
It's not something to worry about when you are selling it to a friend.....a friend will , without any qualms, let you keep it if the situation warrants it.

Why we are selling it on urgent bases. China took 4 years to 5 years to complete our order of J 10C. India Rafale took 5 years after signing. Why we are in hurry to finish it in 1 to 1.5 year.

The Azerbaijani air force needs 40 JF-17's?Is their air force that big?

52 jets overall, looks like they may want to standardise on one jet. Has cost savings than having the high costs of a diverse fleet for what is actually small air force. They have experience of maintaining the same engines (RD series) so it works very well for them.

We will be truly dumb to entertain any export orders. Domestic requirements comes first when you know that India will be buying 114 new jets and proposal has been submitted by countries.
Exports fund development

If we want a PFX exports are vital

Yes but need to keep at least 15 to 12 if we are making production of 24-30 each year. Cannot sale entite production. It is a fairly dumb move and i hope we at least keep 50% production for PAF yearly.

I think that's a fair point

Over the last few years we've had some interest from various countries

If the U.S had not got involved Argentina would probably of had JF17s, Iraq too has been playing around for a few years

Their is rumour of interest from other countries and the recent conflict would have given a boost to prospect's for sales

But Pakistan should at least aim to keep at least some planes for itself, unless it thinks it has time to fullfil exports and aim for J35s and J10s

Export order = Forex.

You can order additional J10CEs to scale up that platform

The J10ce is delivered to PAF within 9 month after the contract was signed between both Goverment.

somehow Jf-17 b3 sold more expensive than J10c,

JF17 is a all rounder and cheaper.. plus PAF has used it extensively against taliban , Iran and India…

J10 is optimised for air superiority
