Babur-Class (MILGEM) Corvette | Updates & Discussion

Well they could have built 2 JCFs in turkey and the rest 6-7 in Pakistan.

Yeah, possibly but think the Turks may have asked for a chunky order. Remember they are essenetially giving us the plans to domestically make something that, in theory, can compete with their own export products, and we can do it cheaper....

As some people have said before on this forum KSEW isn't in a position to export warships most of the key inputs for the JCF are still coming from turkey, also I doubt we can build a ship cheaper, the only thing we have is labour and labour is the smallest part in the overall cost of building a ship.

Lets see. I have a lot of faith in KSEW, they seem quite capable and their history is decent (Agosta 90B, Barbur, F-22, Azmat and Hangor). No real issues on production of really long delays.

If PAC can start exporting JF-17s, I think Karachi can do the same with our own design, and even with inputs coming from Turkiye (This is the way the Turks prefer it to be spelt fyi), we can get something at a lower cost for sure.

For frigates, labour is 20-30% of cost. Not insignificant

if Pakistan produce structure material inhouse that is another 20-30%. Pakistan electronics could add another 10%, and you have 50% to 70% ship build in house in rupees

Babur Class (Milgem) Corvette

12 Ship to Air
6 Ship to Ship
6 Torpedoes

So "18" Multi Mission Missiles , would be great boost for Navy's abilities

why babur project takes too long time, it was only 4 frigates? how many years delayed?

Hopefully KS&EW have upgraded their manufacturing capabilities to match the quality of Turkish ship building standards which are excellent. This ship looks to be very well done from this distance.

Possibly because we needed to give the Turks an order of some sort before they helped with JCF design, unsure though

You have made an interesting comment and inadvertently reached to right conclusion. We only saw PL-15's in PAF inventory and on JF-17 once we purchased J-10's. Kursed (who broke the J-10 coming to PAK) on previous forum stated the same thing. Chinese were refusing to sell us PL-15's unless we buy J-10 too.

Printer and ink philosophy.....once you are in one eco system then you are all in..........it is all business.

Don't know why fanboys can't understand this......this is how business and strategic deals happen......at the end of the day it is about making money selling weapons. Not charity.

Apple is one example where they force you in their eco-system.......

Yes it's finally going for its 'trails'. I'm sure there are some deep secrets among the forest trails it uncovers.
