If you cultivate ties with the Afghans and stop meddling in their affairs , they will have no need to reach out to India in an effort to "balance ties".

I have a cousin that did humanitarian work in Syria and Turkey and he tells me how they all knew it was ruthless to Kurds, several rebellions put down with overwhelming force, there was a time when their language was actually banned and entire villages relocated etc.

Eventually with a degree of assimiliation and kurdish social fatigue plus pressure from EU, they loosened a bit but Turkey now has total control over those regions. They obviously do have more resources than us thats a given but the Turks are ruthless againt separatism.

Pakistan allowed it to get this worse cause much of them are cowards and soft and the nationalism is weak
